SYDNEY - Auto Italia Canberra 2015 @ Old Parliament House - Together with friends from Ferrari Club of Australia - NSW, we drove down together in a "sea of red" convoy from Sydney to Canberra which took approximately 3 hours. We stopped by Meridian Cafe in Marulan to have a light lunch and coffee, then continued our way to Canberra. It was an enjoyble drive as the weather was lovely, all bright and sunny! I managed to take some amazing photos and videos with my iPhone 5.

ABOUT AUTO ITALIA CANBERRA - Held at the Lawns of the Old Parliament House in Canberra, the capital city of Australia, this event boasts a massive display of Italian automative design and excellence - beautiful cars, motorbikes and scooters exhibited with pride and passion from all around the nation. It is an annual event not to be missed for all car enthusiasts or petrol heads. During this Auto Italia Canberra weekend, Canberra is temporarily transformed from a rather quiet city to a rather noisy one with the influx of Supercars! A weekend bustling with activities! If you intend to attend the next Auto Italia Canberra 2016, do book your hotel in advance as they get fully booked pretty early. Popular hotels to stay are Hyatt Hotel Canberra conveniently located near the Old Parliament House and the Novotel Hotel as it is located near Canberra City with a huge shopping mall and my favourite Koko Black chocolate cafe. I wish they have Koko Black chocolate in Sydney!

HIGHLIGHT of the event - The Ferrari F40 which costs around US$1.6 million is proudly displayed under the Ferrari Tent. According to Jeremy Clarkson from TOP GEAR, the F40 is "the best Supercar of them all" and it is "the Supercar" unlike no others. The Ferrari F40 is the most profitable car in Ferrari history. The F40 is a mid-engine, rear wheel drive, two door coupe sports car built from 1987 to 1992 and is the fastest and most powerful car Ferrari ever sold. With a top speed of 324 km/h and a quick acceleration speed of 0-100 km/h in 3.8 seconds, the F40 is a brilliant and remarkable V8 engine car that never fails to mesmerize car enthusiasts with its sheer performance. It is also the first road legal car to ever break the 320 km/h barrier. The F40 became a legend after Enzo Ferrari died in 1988, making it the last car produced under his watch. Only 1,311 F40 cars were manufactured in total and is a highly coveted Supercar among car enthusiasts and Ferrari fans.

AWARDS - The winner of the "Best Ferrari" award went to the Ferrari F430 Scuderia proudly owned by Adam Ciampa. Together with his father - Peter Ciampa who owns the Ferrari F40, the love and passion for Ferrari definitely runs in the bloodline. The Ciampa family loves all things Ferrari and enjoy meeting car enthusiasts who share the same passion. I spoke to Peter Ciampa and he was very happy that I am planning a trip to Italy to visit the Ferrari Factory and Museum in Modena!

Ferrari 458 Speciale - Take a look at this unique looking "signal green" Ferrari 458 Speciale as it is the only one in the World other than Jay Kay's La Ferrari in the UK. There were also many other vintage Ferrari cars on display. The Ferrari 458 Speciale is the faster and more aggressive variant with a 4.5 litre V8 engine. The engine features direct fuel injection which is the first for Ferrari mid-engine setups in all its cars. It sprints from 0-96 km/h in less than 3 seconds. The coolest feature of this car is its side slip angle control (SSC) that gives more stability when taking a corner which results in increase in agility.

It was a great day catching up with friends and to marvel over the wonderful display of cars!
