Last night, Janice and I went for CATS Singapore Musical by #BASE Entertainment at Marina Bay Sands Theater, it was the Red Carpet Opening Premier night for Cats Musical. As usual, Janice loves dressing up for musicals, hence we wore amazing Evening Gowns from The Louvre Bridal.
We had so much fun last night, as we dressed up to the nines for this special red carpet event. Oh look! Janice evening gown matches the stage.... and SEATS TOO!!!!
CATS Singapore Musical Review
With a 53-strong cast and crew from Britain, including a live band, performing English composer Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical score, which ranges from peppy toe-tapping numbers such as Jellicle Songs For Jellicle Cats to the mournful ballad which became a 1981 pop hit, Memory.
I was personally impressed by their cat body suit and amazingly detailed make up.
THE CATS CAN REALLY DANCE VERY WELL.
But I would rate it slightly "MA" - MATURE AUDIENCE.
IT HAS A LOT OF SEX APPEAL.

You will notice that this musical would probably be more suitable for a slightly more mature crowd as most of the characters are in a very SEXY BODY CON SUIT. The outstanding thing about this musical is that, their make up and cat costumes looks really nice.
This musical has a very strong sexual appeal. I noticed that when I am watching this musical, most of the time, I'm just really distracted because the entire show, you will notice their very catty moves from each individual cat character is very sexy and the body movements are all pretty sensual. You can see the entire curves of each actors body under their tight and thin layer of skin suit. You can see every detail of their muscles on their legs all the way to their thighs, and even their nipples when the actors are cold.
Apart from this, their songs are really nice, well, Andrew Lloyd Webber's music is always impressive. Their famous song - Memory would stick into your mind, with a ear worm when you walk out of the musical. The set backdrop looks amazing. It is a scene of a "Garbage Trash Park"?
There is no change of COSTUMES unlike most other musicals.
Hence it might not be that exciting for kids?
Overall, I would say that this musical is more suitable for older crowds, not so much for children, I think that most kids might not be able to relate, as there is not much change in the scenes or characters. It is mainly, the different Cats singing different songs in the whole musical. Unless, you listen to the words of each song carefully, you might not be able to catch their story line. Their story line is NOT OBVIOUS. Kids will not understand what is going on. So unless you appreciate CATS dancing and singing throughout the whole musical, don't bother bringing the kids, it would be a little too dry for them.
Overall, this musical is not my favourite, as there's no exciting change of backdrops, there is also no change of outfits in different scenes to impress you. It gives me a feel like I am watching a ballet - not much change in scene, colours, costumes, or character. I guess, I personally prefer musicals like Aladdin that has a very exciting and entertaining story line that is easy and obvious to follow, and it has a lot of impressive costume changes and it has a lot of JOKES and HUMOUR. I don't really see any humour in CATS.
SUMMARY OF REVIEW FOR CATS
SONG AND ACTORS are IMPRESSIVE in singing and acting.
Storyline - so so.. not obvious enough for kids to follow..
Costumes - IMPRESSIVE at first, but no changes involved, might get bored after awhile.
Rating - 6/10.
Only because I was slightly bored due to not much changes in the entire show.
BUT the MUSIC & DANCE IS REALLY AWESOME - so its still a good watch overall.

I love going to Black Tap, it is from California, it has a really good, exciting, HIP, young and fun concept. They play really nice hip hop, dance, pop music, while you are dining. It has a very modern feel as you can see lots of graffiti on their walls. It is colours and the staff there are as cool as the place. They are most famous for their BEEF Burgers, CRAZY MILK SHAKES, and draft beers.
Janice and I shared a Bam Bam Milk Shake, a Rasputin Stout that has 9% alcohol, a beef Burger, and a Beef Salad. It was AWESOME! Loved every single beverage and dish!

I love this salad it has all my favourite food - beef, cheese, rocket leaves. Ahhh.. its heavenly. Surprisingly, its extremely FILLING. Suitable and filling enough to just have this 1 dish as a full meal for a GIRL. If you are on a diet, its also suitable for 2 GIRLS to share.
