Sara Shantelle Lim Inspired by Singaporeans on the Forbes list of Notable Asian Philanthropists

Sara Shantelle Lim on the idea of Charity

Charity should not be boastful, it should come sincerely from the heart. No matter what amount is given, it should always be appreciated. Charity is a virtue and a true act of kindness. The act itself is motivated to help others to be better off. I have always aspire to be someone who is able to help the less fortunate and especially the underprivileged children. My company SaraShantelle has worked closely and contributed to Singapore's Children Society and I have actively helped to give entrepreneurial/career business talks to schools in Singapore as I have always believe in giving back to society and help the local community. Recently, I read a news article which greatly inspires me which I want to share with all of you. My dream would be to be like the local businessman featured in this news.

The local businessmen on the list of notable philanthropists include Valencia football club owner Peter Lim.

SINGAPORE: Four Singapore businessmen, including Ho Bee Land Chairman Chua Thian Poh and Valencia football club owner Peter Lim, are on this year's Forbes list of notable Asian philanthropists.
The other Singaporeans among Forbes Asia's 48 "Heroes of Philanthropy" are Nippon Paint Singapore founder, Mr Goh Cheng Liang and Professor Saw Swee Hock, an expert on population and statistics.
Mr Chua Thian Poh, 65, was feted for his contributions to education. Forbes estimates Chua has donated at least US$10 million (S$12.5 million) towards college-level education in Singapore since 2008, focusing on developing entrepreneurs and community leaders.
Mr Peter Lim, 61, known as the "remisier king", donated at least US$16 million over the past six years to sports and education causes.
Mr Goh Cheng Liang, 85, is more closely associated with medical research. His 20-year-old Goh Foundation gave US$40 million to Singapore's National Cancer Centre in March for cancer research and to help set up a proton-beam treatment facility. It had previously donated US$10 million to the Centre and also has assisted education initiatives and other medical projects.
Prof Saw Swee Hock, 83, has given more than US$30 million to universities in Singapore, China, Hong Kong and the United Kingdom. His largest reported contribution is US$24 million in 2011 to launch the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health at the National University of Singapore (NUS). Professor Saw and his family made their money by investing in bungalows, in part with an inheritance from his businessman father-in-law, according to Forbes.

Sara Shantelle Lim Loves Children!
I support Singapore's Children Society

(Sara Shantelle Lim & "not my baby, but he's super cute!")

This is where I hang out most of the time, working through piles of files, documents and paperwork. This is my work place, whereby I squeeze my brain juice out, so that I can hopefully, be on Forbes Magazine one day. Some people may think that I'm being too wishful, or dreamy. But seriously, I'm not going to give up. This is who I am, I want to be financially free, I want to be a full time mother, I want to start up new orphanages, I want to help all the children in Singapore, to live a comfortable life with love and proper education. After all, I have my entire lifetime to work towards my goal.

Everyday, I'm striving.. As the song goes.. "I wanna be a Billionaire, so freaking bad.."

BILLIONAIRE by Bruno Mars

I wanna be a billionaire so freakin' bad
Buy all of the things I never had
I wanna be on the cover of Forbes magazine
Smiling next to Oprah and the Queen.......

Just so you know, I listen to this song, almost every single day, when I'm driving to work.
