KOMMUNE CAFE - One of the latest and newest addition to the growing trend of trendy cafes springing up in Singapore City is Kommune Cafe located in the bustling Tiong Bahru precinct. The entire cafe has a hip and trendy vibe and the wooden interiors add to the "industrial style" of the cafe which is extremely popular in Sydney, Australia where my sister Lora Christelle Lim is currently residing at. The cozy, laid back feel creates a great place to chill over great food and company! The cafe prides itself to serve customers top-notch and fine quality coffee, exceptional menu with a distinct personality and a wide and exquisite collection of craft beers. I was delighted that the owner Kenneth Lau invited me to his newly opened cafe for Sunday Brunch. 

WHAT TO ORDER - The Creme Brûlée made of rich custard base, topped with caramel and fresh strawberries and blueberries is a must try as it tasted heavenly! The juicy Tenderloin Medellions served with home-made Bacon Salt, roasted potatoes and side salad was cooked to perfection and definitely a top favorite among meat-lovers. A great cafe that serves interesting dishes instead of the usual boring breakfasts menu. Do visit this cafe when you are in the Tiong Bahru precinct in Singapore!

Fucking Hell Beer is a real beer!

Fucking Hell is a German Pilsner or pale lager which is named after the village of Fucking in Austria. The beer's name was initially controversial and was not widely accepted. However, overtime the lager has gained acceptance and is now sold internationally in Europe, Asia and Australia. It has an alcohol content of 4.9% and it tastes really unique. A must try if you crave something different from the usual alcohol lists.

Just next door to their cafe, they carry a wide range of draft beer. its super unique. Beer lovers, you may find the most interesting beer collection here! Most of them are specially imported from overseas!

The American Club Singapore - It was a beautiful evening where I caught up with close friends Lawrence Chuang and Benjamin Yap over dinner and drinks. They are my childhood friends and we have known each other for many years. It was great catching up to update each other about our lives and I enjoy deep conversations we have over a proper sit down dinner. Food was decent but it was the company that matters :) It is funny how the menu never really change over the years and how the Nachos is still my all time favorite!

This place brings back nostalgic times as I used to hang out here almost everyday several years back with close buddies Feldman Tan, Bryan Soh, Benedict Goh etc. Those were the times when we were having the best times of our lives being carefree and young teenagers without much worries. We used to play golf together at The Orchid Country Club or at The Singapore Island Country Club (SICC) and have dinner at The American Club to chill and relax over popcorn and drinks at the bar. SYDNEY - Newcastle is located approximately 2 hours drive away from Sydney City. Held in Newcastle City at The Junction Public School, the Olive Tree Market - Christmas Market is one of the biggest market of the year. It is also a leading ART and DESIGN market in Newcastle where talented artisans showcase their masterpieces in amazing displays. It is also the launching pad for over one hundred creative talents and minds! It is a place bustling with activities as people were invited to take a look at beautiful artisans work, local artisans gourmet produce, talented local musicians and there was also face painting for little children.

Originally started in 2008, The Olive Tree Market has grown tremendosly from 60 stalls in October 2008 to more than 100 stalls each month. Its reputation to be a close knit community consisting of local artisans market helps to attract visitors locally and from afar who wish to purchase high quality and homemade artisan masterpieces or simply to enjoy the great atmosphere. Regularly held at The Junction Public School, "The Olive Tree" name came about from a big and old Olive Tree that can be found in the school grounds beside the old school hall. Since its humble beginnings, the market has grown to be one of Newcastle's hidden treasures, a place where visitors can discover high quality craftsmanship and beautiful pieces of work. The market's eclectic mix of stalls includes fashion, home wares, jewelry, photography, painting, wood and metal work, fresh flowers, gourmet food, ceramics, handmade children's toys and clothings etc. It is definitely a market that is worth checking out!

It was my first time visiting this market and I must say it was a really interesting market and a great way to spend a lovely weekend afternoon. I managed to find several interesting Christmas Gifts at this market and my favorite stall is MONSOON LIVING who offer small and exclusively range of lovely sourced furniture, homewares and architectural elements to create stunning features in your home. I bought some high quality and exquisite Gift Wrapping Paper which I intend to use for wrapping up all my Christmas gifts to give to my friends. The creative mind behind Monsoon Living was a beautiful lady name Tasha Ireland who travels around the World to source for unique and exquisite items that reflect bespoke craftsmanship, charm and design. VIRAL - Singapore Famous Bloggers Exposed for Buying Fake Instagram Followers - Recent news in the Media highlighted how several well-known bloggers and personalities in Singapore experienced a sharp decline in the number of followers on their Instagram Profiles after an Instagram Purge. It is definitely shocking to read how some of them resorted to buying followers to fake their own celebrity fame and popularity. We really wonder how much money have they spent in doing so? While most of them when interviewed welcomed the Instagram Purge or simply laugh it off, exposing this truth has clearly harmed their reputation and clearly shows how they lack honesty and integrity.

Many of our friends and fans have asked us what we thought of the matter and here are some of our thoughts with no offense to anyone:

1. THE SG SISTERS is a new blog started in Jan 2013. We started blogging not for profit reasons but purely out of the passion for writing and sharing our unique experiences with people who have interest in our lives mainly for our family, relatives, friends etc. We did not start this blog to make money. Therefore, we do not consider ourselves as full time bloggers and see no need to compete with other bloggers in terms of number of followers. As Business Owners ourselves, we have busy schedules and our own businesses play a much more important role in our lives.

2. While we have utmost respect for top Bloggers in Singapore, we are extremely surprised that some of them have resorted to buying followers and we think that this is a lack of integrity and fair competition. We hope in future, there will be more transparency, clarity and fairness.

3. THE SG SISTERS have never resorted to buying Instagram Followers. We can humbly declare we just signed up for Instagram a few months ago and seriously, we did not know that there was a possibility of buying followers and honestly, we would really spend our money on other more useful things. So hope this answers your questions on whether we bought any Instagram followers or not. We are pretty new to Instagram and our number of followers are growing :)

4. THE SG SISTERS is never a blog targeted for mass market but rather a niche market. Our blog features on Luxury and all things related to Luxury, therefore we do not see a need to compete in the number of followers or in the fame game. Our aim is not to be the most famous Bloggers but rather we want to be Bloggers who make a difference. We aim to fill in the gap in the Blogging Industry by offering professional Blogging services to businesses who wish to engage bloggers who write well, share their real life experiences and work professionally. Some businesses who have engaged us have alerted us how they have worked with previous Bloggers who were always late for meetings, uncontactable, rude, unprofessional and write in poor English while others have just received free services and did not even blog for the companies in return.

5. THE SG SISTERS love and enjoy writing. Blogging has allowed us to share our beautiful photos and thoughts in writing. We hope all blog visitors gain some valuable information or knowledge and most importantly, leave our blog site with happiness :) We always aim to inspire others positively and share real information to the best of our knowledge. Therefore, we have also been extremely selective in choosing which companies to work with and hope to achieve a greater outcome from our different collaboration efforts and tie-ups with the businesses that we work closely with.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Engaging Bloggers/Influencers with high number of Followers does not necessarily mean you will get better results. There are many other variables to consider such as whether such Followers are active or inactive? whether they have the Spending Power/Money to purchase your products and services? whether the blog has high Search Engine Optimization (SEO)? whether the followers or blog visitors actually read the written content or just simply gazing/gawking at photos?
