Notre Dame De Paris The Musical at Marina Bay Sands Grand Theatre & Light Snack at CUT By Wolfgang Puck.

Notre Dame De Paris The Musical Spectacular
Marina Bay Sands Grand Theatre
CUT By Wolfgang Puck

I love watching musicals since I was a little girl. The first musical that I've ever watched was Les Miserables, when I was really really young. In total, I've watched Phantom of the Opera, Love Never Dies, The Wicked, Legally Blonde, Billy Elliot, The Lion King, etc. in Singapore and in other countries such as London.

Notre Dame De Paris The Musical Spectacular - Now showing at Marina Bay Sands Grand Theatre from 17 Dec 2013 to 11 Jan 2014, this spectacular musical is based on the author of Les Miserables, Victor Hugo's Classic novel. Notre Dame de Paris was adapted into English by Will Jennings, Oscar-winner for My Heart Will Go On from the epic movie Titanic. The show is directed by avant-garde director, Gilles Maheu from Cirque du Soleil with amazing acts using talented acrobats and dancers on top of the romantic love story of Quasimodo and his love for beautiful gypsy Esmeralda.

I really enjoyed the musical and was touched by the love story. The fantastic score that features emotional melodies made my tears roll. The song "Belle" was my favourite and it has been also elected as the Song of the Century in France, Russia and Canada. I highly recommend everyone to catch this musical during this festive season! CUT by Wolfgang Puck -  We had a lovely dinner at CUT where they are famous for the steaks! CUT is Chef Wolfgang Puck's modern take on the American steakhouse. Opened by a World renowned celebrity chef, CUT is one of the best restaurant to have steak in Singapore. Their steaks are prepared carefully to retain its juiciness and tenderness. CUT is a posh restaurant with premium price tag which is popular among yuppies and business executives. We had a quick dinner before making our way to the musical.

SYDNEY - Ferrari Drive to KIAMA to see the Kiama Blowhole

SYDNEY - Ferrari Drive to KIAMA to see the Kiama Blowhole - On New Year's Day 1st Jan 2014, we had a lovely brunch at Surry Hills then drove our Ferrari down South of New South Wales to explore the Kiama region.

We wanted to explore the Kiama Blowhole where many tourists flocked to Kiama to take photos and enjoy the stunning tranquility of the little town. The scenery in Kiama was breath- taking with black rocks and crashing waves and soft white sand on the beach.

It was a lovely drive as the day was not too hot. It was pretty cooling and the whole journey took around 3 hours from Sydney City to Kiama taking into the account the speed limits allowed on the roads. It was pretty crowded at the Kiama Main Blowhole beside a lovely white lighthouse. But the Little Blowhole located in a different place was much quieter and we were the only ones there.

HOW DO BLOWHOLES WORK???
Interestingly, blowholes are not dependent on tides but are dependent on the winds. The main Kiama blowhole has the best performance when the wind from South East blows, waves enter the mouth of the blowhole and compress the air in the inner cavity. The escaping air causes a loud "oomph" and similar to a geyser, water is quickly forced out of the hole resulting in a water sprout. Unfortunately, as the waves continue to erode the rocks, the blowhole will be come less powerful over time.

It was a really relaxing day spent at Kiama and a wonderful way to recuperate from the party on New Year's Eve at Sydney Darling Harbour. Do visit South Coast - KIAMA for an interesting day out!

SYDNEY - NYE Countdown to 2014 at Darling Harbour

SYDNEY - NYE Countdown to 2014 at Darling Harbour - This year I had a different way of celebrating New Year's Eve Countdown at Darling Harbour instead of heading to the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House area. I wanted to avoid huge crowds and hassle of getting in and out of the place after the countdown so I chose Darling Harbour as it is conveniently located near my home. Celebrate New Year's Eve with a bang with an unforgettable night at Darling Harbour!!!

Sydney Darling Harbour - As I live just 5 minutes walk away from Darling Harbour, we only made our way there around 11pm and surprisingly, it was not as crowded as expected. We managed to get a good spot to watch the fireworks explode right in front of us at close proximity. The fireworks spectacular was a colorful visual feast to our eyes in front of a hyped up crowd cheering on with every burst of fireworks into the night sky.

There were interesting tents set up that sold many light wands, running lights on glitter hats and also lighted ribbon hairbands. Many party people bought the light props to get into the festive mood. Some people also brought their own chairs and picnic mats to sit on the ground to enjoy the fireworks display and heart-stopping pyrotechnic performances. I got myself a light stick to wave around :)

It was quite difficult to capture good fireworks photos with my iPhone 5 but here are some of the best!

Read about my last year's NYE Countdown where I paid AUD550 a person to be on board a Luxury Glass Ship called THE BLUE ROOM at http://thesgsisters.blogspot.com.au/2012/12/nye-countdown-to-2013-in-sydney.html

So how did you celebrate your New Year Eve? Hope it was as splendid and fabulous as mine :)

SYDNEY - Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race on Boxing Day

SYDNEY - Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race - On Boxing Day, a fleet of 95 assembled at Sydney Harbour to compete in the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race. All the yachts were competing against the leading Wild Oats XI from the top and trying to beat it.

BOXING DAY - I woke up early in the morning to Westfield Shopping Centre on Pitt Street to check out the major Boxing Day Sale but was hugely disappointed as there were long queues to enter shops and the discounts were not significant. After shopping for 2 hours, we drove to Watsons Bay to check out the excitement and watch the Yachts racing against the strong winds. It was a relaxing way to de-stress after escaping the massive crowds from shopping earlier.

I was dressed in a classy black and white dress together with my new Forever New Hat :)

SYDNEY - Celebrating Christmas in Sydney Australia

SYDNEY - Celebrating Christmas in Sydney - I spent Christmas in Sydney and I must say Sydney's Christmas Celebrations were like a celebration of lights. There were many beautiful Christmas trees in major shopping malls, a huge Christmas Tree stood tall at Darling Harbour, many cute Santa Claus balloons on Darling Harbour waters, massive fireworks display at Darling Harbour and major buildings had spectacular lights display. Townhall building was so colorful and lovely to look at!

Townhall Building in the heart of Sydney City

The Christmas Spirits in Sydney was absolutely high as a lot of people wore Santa hats and walked around the city all day and night. So, I decided to buy a Santa hat for myself and Claire as well to join in the festive mood. Cars were also decorated with Christmas lightings which was interesting to watch as they light up the streets!

I have been hanging out with my girlfriends and I also attended Annie's Birthday Party at The Carrington!

CHRISTMAS DAY - I stayed home the entire day as it was raining and most shops were closed. I cooked Seafood Pasta for lunch and baked delicious Blueberries & Chocolate cupcakes. I attended the 5pm Church Service at St. Andrew's Cathedral beside my home and gave my church pastor Andrew my cupcakes to try. It was a great message to remind us how God sent his only son Jesus who died on the cross for our sins so our lives are saved. The greatness of God's love... the true meaning of Christmas is a celebration of God's love for us...

At night, we had a wonderful Christmas party at Jinah's apartment with a mini-feast of cheese, grapes, prawns, my blueberries cupcakes, wine and she made strawberry mint mocktail for me as I don't drink alcohol. I gave my girlfriends each a Ferrero Rocher Star chocolates box!

I have also received many Christmas Presents from my girlfriends and I appreciate them for their thoughtfulness and efforts in buying me a gift. My Christmas Presents include YSL Lipgloss, Red Velvet cupcakes, Lindt Chocolates, San Churros Hot Chocolate Mix, Haigh's Chocolates, Simon Johnson Chilli Stir-Fry Paste, Italian Pasta, Models Prefer Lipgloss etc. I also got a lovely Forever New hat and had my nails painted Glittery silver for Christmas!

Christmas is a time of giving! So I bought a giant box of chocolates containing 100 pieces of pralines for my security guards at Lumiere apartments to thank them for their great work. Until now, they are still trying to finish all the chocolates and I love the fact that I managed to put a smile on their faces :)
