SYDNEY - Qantas Wallabies v British & Irish Lions (3rd Test) Sydney ANZ Stadium

Qantas Wallabies v British & Irish Lions (3rd Test)
ANZ Stadium, Sydney

This match is between the English and Australians. It only happens once in 12 years. It is a really big match for them. This is the third and final match, that shows who is the big winner. The score was one-all at the moment. Everyone in Australia was really excited for this event.

On 6 July 2013, you could see people on the streets wearing the wallabies signature yellow jersey. We took a train to the ANZ stadium as it was the only possible way not to just stuck in traffic. We had really good VIP XSEATS tickets, which was better than a Platinum ticket holder. These XSEATS tickets are only available to exclusive members.

SYDNEY - This is my first time participating in such an event. I've never been to a sporting event in my life. So it was really exciting for me. The atmosphere was crazy. There were people singing the official rugby song on the train, on the bus, and while walking on the streets. Everyone was either dressed in the yellow jersey to support the Wallabies or in red, supporting the British and Iris Lions.

The moment we arrived at the ANZ Stadium, we went over to Novotel Hotel to have some pre-drinks. It was a ball room booked, just for the Wallabies to watch the game on the big screen, with plenty of hot food and chilled beer and wine to cheer on their Australian Team. There were posters of their players on the walls of the ballroom. After some delicious finger food and a bottle of chilled beer, we adjourned to the ANZ Stadium.

We were all given yellow hats to support the Wallabies.

Opening Video of the Rugby Game

Yeah, I was really really yellow that day.

The atmosphere was really something that I've never experienced before.

Everyone was screaming their lungs out~

In the end, unfortunately, the British & Irish Lions won. Well it was still an exciting game for me. The British Lions really did a very good formation and their limps seem to be much stronger and faster.

Enterprise 50 Association Annual General Meeting & Dinner @ Four Seasons Hotel proudly sponsored by UBS Private Bank

Enterprise 50 Association Annual General Meeting & Dinner - Fiona and I were invited to attend this event at Four Seasons Hotel on 9 July 2013 proudly sponsored by UBS Private Bank.

Enterprise 50 Official website - http://www.enterprise50.org/

The Guest of Honor was Mr Lawrence Wong who is the Acting Minister for Culture, Community and Youth as well as Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Communications and Information. There was an interesting dialogue between guests and the Minister and I must say his answers were pretty witty. President of E50 Association - Andy Lim from Moneyworld Asia Pte Ltd gave out several service awards to ex-committee members who stepped down after giving a thank you speech. I met Mr Andy Lim at a previous UBS Bank event and when I interviewed successfully to join Tembusu Private Equity Firm. He is a respectable man who is well-known in Singapore's business community.

Many special guests attended this event which include honorary council members from KPMG, UBS Private Bank, The Business Times and other Managing Directors of Companies who have won E50 awards in Singapore. I met many UBS Private bankers as well as some of ANZ Bank's customers.

The E50 awards were first established in 1995 to recognize local, privately-held companies who have contributed significantly to economic development in Singapore and abroad. It is jointly supported by KPMG, The Business Times, Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore, Singapore Business Federation, SPRING Singapore etc. Therefore, you can see the seating arrangements of all the VIP guests who were invited to this grand event.

Most interestingly, I met my cousin aka "Uncle Danny" who works for a Private Equity Firm as well as Pearline who used to work for ANZ Bank. Guess Singapore's really small and I tend to bump into people I know everywhere. It's always fun to "reconnect" and I love taking photos to capture such moments!

Throughout the night, I got to network with various Company Directors and made some valuable new contacts. I also learned new knowledge from the UBS Bank presentation and enjoyed a good dinner at Four Seasons Hotel. Special thanks to E50 and UBS Private Bank for inviting me to attend this event!

Before I went for the event at Four Seasons Hotel, I visited JERIC SALON located at ION Orchard Shopping Mall. I was so happy that Mr. Jeric See personally styled my hair so that I can look beautiful for the event. He was very professional in styling my hair using a special curler from Japan.

He used a special curler that automatically rolls my hair and create beautiful soft and natural looking curls. It looks like a mini black robot. Talk about high technology, Jeric Salon prides itself to be using the latest and most updated hair equipment. I highly recommend Jeric Salons if you want professional hairstylists who knows, understands and have a great passion in managing and cutting Hair. Thanks to Jeric, I now have beautiful hair that shines :) Visit Jeric official website at http://jeric.sg/

Singapore International Jewelry Expo 2013 @ Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre

Singapore International Jewelry Expo (SIJE) 2013 - I was invited to the Launch of this event held at Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre on 4 July 2013 as a Media VIP. As the exhibition took place from 4-7 July 2013, I attended the opening day as well as the closing day.

The most memorable of this expo was that I tried on a 10 carat diamond ring that costs USD580,000! It was an enchanting moment :) The funniest part was that I left with a bigger diamond ring that can fit 3 of my fingers as I won the item in the lucky dip. I am such a happy and lucky girl! It was a giant Diamond Ring that acts as a Napkin holder. Photo taken below while I was waiting for the Valet to get our car.

For the Launch and Grand Opening of this event on 4th July 2013, Member of Parliament - Dr. Lily Neo was the Guest of Honor and she was chosen to cut the ribbon! There was Lion dance as all VIP guests were welcome into the expo with a grand entrance. SIJE official website is at http://www.sije.com.sg/

Upon entering the exhibition hall, I was brought to my seat in front of a big stage. After several speeches by the VIP guests and Guest of Honour - Dr Lily Neo, there was a special fashion show where models parade around proudly with the most expensive and most exquisite jewelry.

This mega event covers over 8,000 square metres of exhibition space and is targeted at business and consumer buyers. This SIJE event brings together leading jewelry designers, brands and gemstones suppliers all over the World to showcase the most exquisite jewelry collection. There were many jewelry brands mainly from countries such as Italy, Thailand, India, Hong Kong, Japan, China etc. and I was almost blinded by all the "bling" shining under the bright spotlights.

I had a great time visiting different booths and checking out the most unique jewelry designs that are really one of a kind. I was spoilt for choice! I only bought an 18K Gold Necklace with a Crystal Ribbon pendant which looks really sweet and pretty on the closing day at a very good price!

Below are the highlights of the SIJE Event held from 4-7 July 2013 at Marina Bay Sands!
  • Expected no. of exhibitors - 190 from 20 countries and/or regions
  • Expected no. of trade and public visitors - 16,000
  • Larger exhibition halls - 8,000 sqm
  • Extensive marketing communications campaign in Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Europe.
  • Powerful series of talks led by industry leaders and gem experts.
  • Daily jewelry and fashion shows.
  • Showcase of the 2013 collection of masterpieces by Thomas Diego Armonia.

I also met an interesting lady who was the sole distributor of Blue Mahoe Estate Caffe and the coffee was absolutely fragrant! This coffee is 100% Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee and is served at Hermes Boutiques in Singapore. They also have a cafe at The Esplanade Mall open daily from 11am-11pm.

Address - #02-04 Esplanade, 8 Raffles Avenue, Singapore 038802. Tel : 6338 8302

ROGER DUBIUS & AFFLUENT Media presents An evening of Contemporary Haute Horlogerie @ Marina Bay Sands

Roger Dubius Boutique at Marina Bay Sands
The Shoppes @ Marina Bay Sands, 2 Bayfront Avenue #B2-241
Phone: +65-6636-9522

Roger Dubius Boutique at Marina Bay Sands - It was a beautiful evening of Contemporary Haute Horlogerie organized by Affluent Media and many special guests were invited for this event. Special thanks to the General Manager - Catherine Ng from Affluent Media for the special invitation. Catherine Ng was dressed to the nines and I love her style and the way she dressed differently for various luxury events! She wore a sexy pair of black heels to match her glittery black dress. Managing Director/Publisher from Affluent Media - Paul Tan was also very well dressed and I'm glad I wore a semi-formal blue dress for the event. A glamourous event indeed! Check out Affluent Media at http://www.affluent-media.com/

Founded in 1995 with its headquarters based in Geneva, Roger Dubius is the only manufacture to be 100% Poinçon de Genève certified. The most demanding signature in watch making. The story of Roger Dubius is a dazzling one of success and reflects a world of its own. Its all about technical sophistication, exuberance, audacity, bold excellence and an elegant brand that is worthy of the best in Haute Horlogerie

I had a conversation with the General Manager of Roger Dubius and he explained that Roger Dubius is a luxury brand above Rolex, Patek Philippe, Cartier etc. as it is highly exclusive with less than 5,000 watches made yearly in the World. I think the White watch looks the best? What do you think?

While he continued to show me the various watch collections which consisted of "Excalibur" and "Velvet" Collections, my eyes only fancied the "Velvet" collection as the watches were brightly sparkling with diamonds. It is definitely more elegant and feminine, suitable for the modern lady to feel more diva-like.

Besides watches, Roger Dubius also feature a luxury collection of jewelry that were very unique in design.

Roger Dubius is the only watchmaker in the World to have all its movements stamped with the Geneva Hallmark, a guarantee of fine craftsmanship. A luxury and unique watch defined by the utmost perfection :)

Fine Dining - Equinox Restaurant on Level 70 of Swissotel The Stamford Hotel

Equinox Restaurant @ Swissotel The Stamford

Phone: +65 6837 3322

Equinox Restaurant - Situated at the top on Level 70 of Swissotel The Stamford, this fine dining restaurant boasts breathtaking panoramic views of Singapore and the isles of Indonesia and Malaysia. My ex colleague from Standard Chartered Bank - Sherlyn Sam and I had a lovely girls lunch at Equinox and enjoyed the beautiful views. She now works for DBS while I work for ANZ Bank. We managed to have a good catch up session and discussed the banking industry in Singapore as well as our career plans for the future.

We were given a table by the window where we enjoyed magnificent views of Marina Bay Sands, Esplanade and Boat Quay area despite the haze conditions. I love dining at places with beautiful views :)

We had the weekday lunch semi-buffet which costs $59++ per person. As we had the Raffles Feed Card, we enjoyed the 1 for 1 promotion. The buffet portion included a sumptuous spread of fresh sashimi, sushi, soba and cold seafood such as oysters, clams, scallops, crabs, prawns etc. There were many different types of salads and my favourite was the Thai Prawn Salad.

As for the main courses, the waitress informed us that it will take approximately 20 minutes to prepare and we can order from the menu anytime. Sherlyn ordered the Grilled Salmon Fillet with green asparagus while I had the Beef Fillet with baby tomatoes which tasted really delicious!

Last but not least, we indulged ourselves in the desserts buffet which consisted of a variety of cakes, pastries, cheeses, ice cream etc. The chocolate fondue with strawberries, dried peaches and bananas was my favourite and I love chocolates! Overall, a great dining experience with quality food, service and beautiful views of Singapore. A place to impress overseas guests as well as for a memorable romantic date!

If you prefer a romantic dinner to enjoy the night views of Singapore, do reserve a table for dinner instead!
