This year's birthday was a blast! I held my birthday at BAZIN Restaurant & Bar at Marina Bay Sands. My "brother" KY was very sweet to book a hotel premium room at Marina Bay Sands Tower 1 for me. Just in case, my party ends too late, at least, I have a hotel room for me to crash.

KY~ee's Marina Bay Sands Hotel Room "Check-In" Instructions:

1. Valet park your car at MBS Tower 1.

2. Walk into VIP Lounge and give them the secret password, to retrieve key card.

3. Knock onto the door saying "OPEN DOOR", 3 times in Mandarin. 

I thought that was really funny. Obviously, it was a joke! He made my check in more interesting!

The hotel room at Marina Bay Sands was really beautiful. Each hotel room has a balcony that faces Gardens by the Bay. Lora and I decided to check out the Infinity Pool before we start to get ready for my big birthday party. I had a freshly made Lime Mojito and some Gourmet Truffle Fries, while I lazed at the poolside. I accompanied Lora, while she soaked herself in the cool waters as we enjoyed the amazing skyline view of our Singapore CBD area. 

Soon, it was time for us to go shower and prepare for the big night, I was very happy with Sam, who is the Director of PAVO Hair Salon. He helped me to blow and design my birthday hair do, despite being so busy with his renovations of PAVO Hair Salon at 1 Nassim Road.

I was delighted when BAZIN at Marina Bay Sands (MBS), wanted to hold my birthday at their place. Just look at the view, Bazin is located at Level 1 of the shopping area at MBS. It is right in front of Louise Vuitton Island Maison. I was able to view the whole water area that surrounding The Custom House, Fullerton Bay Hotel, OUE etc. I was also able to view the Laser light show at 8pm and 9.30pm. It was a perfect location for my birthday, with a perfect back drop for me to take my birthday photos. I had some pizza, truffle fries, foie gras there, the food was simply delicious~

I am so happy that even my air stewardesses girl friends were able to attend my birthday. Hello Fanni Yang & Family~ Thank you for being in Singapore, for me every birthday party so far. Even my school mates from my younger days came. 

My old friend, Steven Krisman, came with his bunch of very stylish and well dressed friends. They looked like they just jumped out of the MTV channel. Steven and I used to go car rounding a lot when we were much younger.

I'm very happy that its my birthday again! My birthday falls on 4th June 2013. I'm turning.... 21 years old again! I had a private family pre-celebration dinner at Moonstone at Mount Faber on 3rd June 2013. It was really enjoyable. I love my family! 

I'm a GEMINI~ In fact, I'm a typical Gemini, because my birthday falls in the middle of the horoscope. I do not believe in daily and monthly horoscopes forecast, but to a certain extent, I still read characteristics of each horoscopes and concluded that some of them really seem quite accurate. I am a Twin Sign, its like as if I have 2 minds. My element is Air, I am dynamic and I am constantly changing and evolving. My planet is Mercury. I do not believe in lucky colours, stones, days, or numbers. I find that, too superstitious. But I do, study horoscopes - based on individual characteristics only. 

FUN FACT: Typical GEMINI - known to be playful, outgoing, quick witted, intellectual, creative, easily bored, dynamic, constant need to find a source of entertainment, etc.

My Personal Character: I do constantly yearn to be mind stimulated. I like watching documentaries, movies, etc. I enjoy being at home, yet I like going out too. I can be very self entertained just by sitting in front of a television, watching movies all day long. I am emotionally independent, I am happy just being in my own little world. I do not need much reassurance from anyone, as I am generally quite a happy person by nature. I can be very comfortable being alone, doing my own things and having my own space. I am born with an introverted nature. Yet, when I'm in the mood to go out to play, I am still able to evolve into an extrovert; to mingle and hang out with a lot of friends. I would say that I share around 80% of the traits, that you can see from the above picture. Hence, I would say, I'm quite a typical Gemini.

I am very happy that I had a "Surprise Customized Cake" from EMICAKES - The No.1 Durian Cake Maker in Singapore. They are very nice to sponsor me a birthday cake. Just a week ago, EMICAKES, asked me, what would I like for the design of my cake. I told them, "COLOURFUL with my SaraShantelle LOGO". 

Now, this was what they delivered to my doorstep! It was so pretty in PINK! Its girly, yet classy~ Exactly, what I imagined it to be. Something bright, cheerful and playful. 

I did not even know that it was DURIAN flavoured, until I sliced the cake, after my birthday wish. It was so well-baked that its sweet outer covering managed to seal off the Durian smell. The last conversation I had with EMICAKES was that, they were going to bake me a CHOCOLATE CAKE. I was really surprised that they managed to bake me a Customized Durian Cake! :) 

It was a good surprise for my mother and I, we really enjoyed it. But my beloved sister, Lora, really dislike the smell of Durian. My dad also lend towards the anti-durian team, but when he tried it, he said that, its the best durian cake he has ever eaten. Good job EMICAKES! My father who do not really like Durians, thought that your cake was DELICIOUS~ 

My mother and I really loved the durian cake. We couldn't finish it at Moonstone, so we brought it home and kept it in our fridge. I shall have 1 table spoon of cake a day? With lots of water, so that, I would not fall sick, okay?

FUN FACT: Singaporeans believe that eating too much Durians is "HEATY". "Heaty" (to Singaporeans) is when our body is "over-heated". It is the same feeling that you may experience, when you consume too much deep fried food, or drink too much energy drink (like milo). Side effects include, a sore throat, pimple breakouts, cough, etc. 

The food at Moonstone was pretty good. Our favourite dish was their Garlic Fried Rice. So yummy! They serve grilled skewers at a very reasonable price. Their grilled Salmon was really tasty too. It is a very romantic place for couples, as you are able to enjoy the full view of the waters and Sentosa, while you sip your wine or champagne and laze the night away in nature. After all, Moonstone is located at Jewel Box at Mount Faber. It is right at the Top of Mount Faber, hence, driving there or taking a taxi is necessary.

My Best Present This Year 2013

I quit the airlines last year, in April 2012, to join my family business - full time. I am very happy to bring my family business to a greater height. As a bonus for my achievement, I was rewarded a Mercedes SLK. For those of you that know me well, you would know that I love cars, since I was a little kid. I am absolutely delighted with this car! I love driving it to work everyday, it really simply, brightens up my day! I am very blessed and I thank God and my family for that.

My bestfriend, Natalie and I attended The Entrepreneur Of The Year 2013, A Rotary Singapore ASME Award together, at Mandarin Orchard Hotel Grand Ballroom. It was organised by ASME (The Association of Small and Medium Enterprises), which is a non-for-profit organisation established in 1986 for entrepreneurs, by entrepreneurs. ASME has grown from strength to strength and remains one of the foremost champions of the Singapore pro-enterprise movement. With their resources, this membership club strives to equip members with their extensive business knowledge and connections. 

They had an amazing grand opening. Loved it!

I bumped into many friends who are also directors and partners of their companies. This event was organised for members to meet, network and to explore for collaborations and tie ups. I was very happy to meet Lydia again, for the second time, this week. I just met her at the Lexus event a few days ago. She is a partner of Sensaura, which distributes aromatic essential oil to make your room smells better. 

It was a stand up, cocktail/dinner event, whereby, food and drinks were served while members mingle with each other. They had a great performance by a classical band. 

Their sponsors include Martell XO Cognac, Starhub, Lexus, OCBC Bank, Spring Singapore and others. I was surprised to see that every single gift bag has a cute little bottle of Martell XO Cognac inside. It was a great night of networking and drinks.

The Green Door - by the Prive Group

The Green Door - is a brand new concept newly opened by the Prive Group. Nestled among the lush greenery in Dempsey area, it is strategically located at 13A Dempsey Road where the old Hacienda was located. It is a vintage, old & rustic, chill out place for indoors and alfresco style food and drinks. A great place to hang out with friends for drinks before or after dinner in the garden as it is only opened in the evenings from 4pm onwards. Happy hours are from 5-8pm daily. Their signature cocktails utilise fruits and herbs fresh from the garden and the menu is made up of creative drink names with interesting concoctions such as "Terrible Tyler's Threesome", "Starry Starry Night", "Ya Ya Papaya" and "For Goodness' Sake" etc which costs $19 each. Do try their delicious Buttermilk Fried Chicken Drumlets ($14), Mexican Catfish & Bean Salad ($14), Pig Jam on Toast ($14) and Crispy Corn Shrimp Fritters ($15). We ordered a bottle of Champagne - Nicolas Feuillate Brut N.V. ($138) and some other beer to share.

We were invited to attend the Sneak Preview of this new place by Robbie Hoyes-Cock for the B-YOND Party. Before entering The Green Door, you will be greeted by a giant bear at the entrance that towers over visitors. If you notice carefully, you will spot their tiny signature "Green" door at the entrance fences too.

Specially designed by The Stripe Collective (a local Design House), the interiors are pretty interesting with old gramophones elegantly crafted to look like flower lightings that lit the bar as well as a whimsical wall that is made up of old vintage yet colorful chest of drawers helps to evoke an "Alice in Wonderland" feeling.

Overall, The Green Door in Dempsey is the perfect spot to relax and chill over drinks with friends among the luscious foliage, in the midst of tranquility away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
