SYDNEY - Lora Christelle Lim's Graduation Ceremony at University of Sydney - Masters of International Business

UNIVERSITY OF SYDNEY
Lora Christelle Lim's Graduation Ceremony
Masters of International Business - 2013

Established in 1850, the University of Sydney is Australia's first University!

SYDNEY - UNIVERSITY OF SYDNEY - I have finally graduated from the University of Sydney with a Masters of International Business qualifications and I must say it was a wonderful experience living and studying abroad. Despite being away from Singapore for about more than 1.5 years, time seemed to have passed pretty quickly. I was delighted as my whole family flew down together with me to Sydney to attend my graduation ceremony and I must say they are extremely proud of me for having passed my Masters with Distinction and High Credit. My professor also wrote an outstanding testimonial for my great performance and I thank God for his blessings!

ABOUT UNIVERSITY OF SYDNEY - The University of Sydney Business School is a world-class business school at the forefront of global business and management education. Relevant and focused on today's business world, they are the only Australian business school to achieve membership to CEMS - the Global Alliance in Management Education in addition to international accreditation from AACSB and EQUIS. To find out why you should study here, click http://sydney.edu.au/business/study/why

STUDYING AT UNIVERSITY OF SYDNEY - The main school campus was established in 1850, therefore it looks old, grand and beautiful today. I am so proud to studying at a University campus with a rich history and with 270,000 alumni worldwide. My classes were held in the Business School Faculty and my classmates were mostly international students from China, Pakistan, Norway, Chile, Argentina, Australia, Taiwan, Korea etc. Special thanks to those who made my stay in Sydney a very special one filled with precious and happy memories.

MASTERS OF INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS - Armed with a Masters of International Business qualifications from University of Sydney on top of my Bachelor degree in Sociology and New Media & Communications from National University of Singapore, I must say studying has been a great joy and privilege. Learning should always be a continuous endeavor! I thank my loved ones for their support and encouragement and most importantly, for believing in me!

AFTER GRADUATION - I returned back to Singapore after graduation as my student visa has expired and was offered many attractive jobs in the banking and finance sector. Among my top job offers, I spent quite some time considering between the job offer from Tembusu Partners - a private equity firm as well as from ANZ Bank. In the end, I chose ANZ Bank as I was extremely familiar with the job role and was more confident in executing the job well. Special thanks to JY for recommending me the job and I am really grateful for your help! I had a wonderful time working for ANZ Bank Commercial Business Banking division as a Relationship Manager and really love the brand new office at the Ocean Financial Building conveniently located in the heart of Singapore's Central Business District (CBD) at Raffles Place.

Tokyo Auto Salon Singapore 2013 at Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre

Tokyo Auto Salon Singapore 2013 - came to Singapore at Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre for the very first time in its 30 years history from 12-14 April 2013. It was fully supported by the Tokyo Auto Salon Association (TASA) of Japan, Muse Group and MediaCorp. Tickets were reasonably priced at SGD$25/adult.
This exclusive event features the finest and most unique cars from Tokyo Auto Salon Japan 2013 as well as Japanese Race Queens, J-Pop Idols and other entertainment specially flown into Singapore from Japan to provide visitors a memorable experience! The J-Pop Group AKB48 also displayed their wonderful dance techniques. More than 150 cars were specially showcased during this event.
My sister Sara Shantelle Lim and I visited the event and we were delighted to spot a few unique and interesting cars. I even took photo with a lovely pink car with long eye lashes! There were many featured cars that had special sounds systems and modified parts. Some cars were also modified to exude luxury indulgence with its interiors decorated with shiny crystals, champagne bottles and glasses. Some cars even have disco running lights to reflect their hip characters!
The car models were pretty hot too and many photographers were busy taking close up photos with them. There was much comparison between the beautiful Japanese car models vs Singapore car models. DJ Foxxy also performed as the guest DJ for the night!

Chang Beer presents Muay Thai Singapore Challenge 2013

Last weekend, I received a very exciting invitation to watch hot hunky men fight to win the Muay Thai Singapore Challenge. It was held at the Coliseum Hard Rock Hotel Resorts World Sentosa on 13 April 2013. It started at 7pm with reputable fighters from all over the world who came specially to compete. The top finalists from "The Challenger Asia" and 5 of our very own Singaporean Muay Thai fighters took part as well. There were 13 fighters in total.

Our Singaporean fighters included Mohd. Azhari, who won the fight heads down, just in the second round. All the other Singaporean fighters like Zay Yar Oo, Ian Koh, Challi Bassina and Chai Kao Quan, fought through all 5 rounds, some winning and some losing.

FIGHT CARD
These were the fighters for the night.

This Muay Thai Challenge 2013, was to promote Muay Thai Anti Drug (MAD) awareness supported by the World Muay Thai Council and the International Federation of Muay Thai Amateur.

Chang Beer was one of the organizers for this event. Selling their beer at a cheap S$5 per cup. It tasted really refreshing in the open air Coliseum at Hard Rock Hotel.

It was a really interesting event for me. I have never seen people fight in a real life before. Watching people or boxers fight on television seems so fake and staged. I really enjoyed this event as you can literally see hot pespiration dripping off the boxer's body and hair from the impact of their punches. Following the Thai tradition, each of the Boxer's have to perform a "dance ritual" before they would fight each other. I was lucky enough to take a photo with one of the winners of the Muay Thai Challenge. Overall, it was a unique experience!

There were tickets selling at S$128, S$88 and S$58. I had 6 complimentary tickets from my parents. I managed to drag my friend Jeremy, at the very last minute, to join me for this event.

A highly recommended place to visit on Sentosa Island especially for family days and outings!

TYPHOON THEATRE - It was an exciting experience to watch a short film where you are immersed in a situation where you are on board a 9th Century Chinese Junk in the midst of a Typhoon. The strong howling winds and rain water creates a surreal atmosphere of high strung tensions and panic. After the ship finally sank deep into the sea, we were greeted to a beautiful view of the Aquarium. I was slightly wet by little droplets of rain water from the film stimulation. Admission is Free.
