Flying Business Class to BALI, Indonesia - A Relaxing Retreat :)

As a striving entrepreneur, my hours are hectic and my work load is over whelming. Being a workaholic, I constantly work from around 10am to 3am for a period of around 1 year. It was tiring, but I was passionate to build my beauty business and I enjoyed every single bit!

My best girlfriends - Cindy Li, Karen Gian and I decided to head to Bali to recuperate and find inner peace away from the bustling Singapore city. Within 24 hours, I planned and book my flights and hotel stay. I was really happy that both my girlfriends were able to agree to go on a last minute trip to Bali, which was decided within 24 hours which was so random!

We took a direct flight on Singapore Airlines to Bali. It was a short and sweet flight. Singapore Airlines only have Business and Economy Class seats to Bali. We took Business Class, and we were lucky that we managed to sit altogether, although we booked our tickets so last minute. A Businesss Class air ticket on Singapore Airlines cost about SGD1300.

We were invited to the Kris Flyer Business Class Lounge. The lounge was beautiful and the food was served in a buffet style. There were plenty of food and drinks at the buffet counter. There were quite a lot of variety of food and drinks, there were mainly Chinese and Western food, and there was both Hot and Cold Beverages. They also serve all the different types of alcohol - Red and White Wine, Gin, Whiskey, Vodka, Baileys, Beer, etc. As a typical workaholic, I took out my most trusted Sony laptop and worked with my PA while we waited for the Boarding Gate to open.

The flight was really comfortable as my precious girlfriends took care of me really well! They were wrapping me up with countless of blankets and pillows as I was afraid of the cold. We had a lot of fun on board the flight and Business Class seats were very comfortable!

Alila Villas Uluwatu Bali

We stayed at Alila Villas Uluwatu, it was recommended by my girlie, Cindy~ It was heavenly! It was one of the best villas to stay in Bali! Everything was elegantly designed in Zen style with many white and woody furnishings. Poised on an elevated plateau that meets with limestone cliff sweeping down to the ocean, the view from the Alila Villas is nothing less than picture-picture. This is exactly what I needed! Thanks Cindy, for the fantastic recommendation! It was a luxury villa stay to relax and enjoy the peace and tranquility!

Below are their seasonal rates for this particular 1 bedroom villa that we stayed in, it is a MUST-GO for Honeymoon or couples who seek Romance! Book a room: http://www.alilahotels.com/seasonal-offers We paid about USD1400 a night for this villa stay. Expensive but it was worth it!!!

We booked 2 Villa rooms: 1 Bedroom Villa with Pool. The land space of this Hotel is pretty huge, a "Buggy ride" was needed to get us to our villa rooms. When we stepped into our villa room, we were amazed! We found 1 king size sleeping bed, 1 king size window bed, 1 sun bed outside by the poolside. In total - 3 huge beds! Then I thought to myself, "Wow! This 1 bedroom villa can actually fit 6 adults and they can still sleep super comfortably!"

The Toilet is amazingly HUGE too! With 2 sinks, 2 showers: 1 indoor shower and 1 open air shower, 1 bath tub, 2 closets. I love it!

We arrived at Bali pretty late, so we decided to stay in for the night. We ordered room service with Champagne. The food was good, we ordered chicken curry, pizza, salad, etc. We had a hearty meal before we slept.

The next morning, while Cindy and I were waiting for Karen to wake up, we lazed by our villa's pool. We chilled at the Sun Bed just outside our villa. There, Cindy did her power Yoga moves, while I took photos of her in her sexy bikini.

Suddenly, a strange intruder - Monkey appeared! We screamed and scrambled back into our villa. Locked every windows and doors as quickly as we could. City girls - would never get used to wild monkeys running among us. But that monkey meant no harm. I guess just he was just thirsty. He sat there for awhile, looking around, ate my biscuits and drank our pool water. Hope the monkey does not get a tummy ache after drinking the chlorine water!

When it was time for lunch, Cindy and I decided to check out the Hotel's restaurants, while Karen went for a SPA treat. At Spa Alila, the path to well being is holistic and intuitive. Trained in anatomical physiology, massage, mediation, and service, their local therapist combines the latest organic nutrition and health knowledg with warm and genuine care. Karen loved her Alila Spa experience!
Book Alila Spa: http://www.alilahotels.com/uluwatu/spa-alila

We went to The Warung for lunch. The Warung presents wholesome traditional Indonesian and Balinese fare. Indoor and outdoor dining is provided in this sophisticated space. The friendly and convivial atmosphere allows us to have a casual and laid back experience. We chose to settle at an outdoor hut, whereby our food was served to us, by their friendly waiter in full Balinese costume. Every hut includes a thoughtful set of skincare products. The one that I liked best was their Mosqitoe Repellent cream, it smells really nice. It was made of Citronella plants. Citronella plant is a Natural Insect Repellant.
The Warung: http://www.alilahotels.com/uluwatu/dining

After our sumptuous meal, we decided to have a little dip in the Alila Main Pool that was facing the open sea. The view was amazing. Hotel service was excellent. The moment we settled down at the poolside beds, COLD towels, chilled bottled water and dry towels were served by a hotel staff with a huge wooden basket.

We went to the famous KU DE TA for dinner in the evening. The Alila Hotel butler arranged and made all reservations for us. The Taxi ride there was only around 15 minutes.  http://www.kudeta.net/

The place was fairly nice. They played good music. We were seated quite far away from the beach, as our reservation was pretty last minute. It was sheltered, but not air conditioned. So it was a little warm for us. Service was pretty okay, but could use a slight improvement. Business was good for them, as it is one of the most famous place known to tourists. Karen order curry fish for dinner, while I ordered squid ink pasta and Cindy settled for a mixed seafood dish! Food was average.

After dinner, we moved on to the beach to have enjoy some sea breeze. It was definitely way cooler here as there was no blockage from the walls of the restaurant. Karen and Cindy enjoyed their 3 bottles of Champagne while I detox-ed with some Hot Water with Honey. Cindy and I decided to go barefoot at the beach, the sand was soft and nice. Running around the sand, gave us an instant and effective foot exfoliation  That is a little beauty secret to have a nice soft feet!

The next day, we tried another highly recommended place: THE POTATO HEAD. Now, this is what I call a REAL Beach front restaurant and chill out place. It is new, fresh and hip! The place is extremely well designed. The building is circular, whereby the east and west side diners would face the POOL in the middle that is facing the sea front. We were lucky to have a seat closest to the sandy beach. The view was amazing, the food and drinks were fantastic! http://www.ptthead.com/

POTATO HEAD IS A MUST VISIT!

Cindy and I arranged a mini surprised for Karen's Birthday. She was so touched she teared a little. Before I knew it, Champagne bottles kept coming as my 2 girlies were in high spirits. I continued with my Hot Honey, determined to detox. hehe~ Pretty and well prepared Cindy, was smart~ She even brought light sticks to party with! Goodie!!

After 3 bottles for Champagne, we decided to head back to our Hotel Villa. There, Cindy and I arranged another birthday surprise for Karen. Karen's dining table was filled with roses and strawberries and Champagne. But due to the first 3 bottles they had at Potato Head, Karen took at least 10 seconds to notice and react to the surprise. Haha~ She was so touched, she literally cried and fell down to her knees. Lovely Cindy, bought her a Hermes Twilly scarf. Karen loves Hermes!!!

There we continued party at our Villa Pool. We threw all the rose petals into the pool and danced our way through the night. The next morning, rose petals were still found in the pool water. We had fun!

The next day, it was time to pack up and leave for home. It was a really amazing time for us! It was also flattering that some people came up to us to compliment how beautiful 3 of us looked together in our long beach dresses! We will do this again soon! It was fun to hang out just 3 of us girlfriends together in Bali. Away from the city, Bali Indonesia provides peace, tranquility and romance for couples! Bali is so beautiful indeed and a highly recommended place for a short getaway or retreat!

TRAVEL - Sara Shantelle Lim Flying FIRST CLASS on Singapore Airlines to San Francisco America - The Private Room at Singapore Airlines & St Regis Hotel San Francisco

TRAVEL - Sara Shantelle Lim Flying FIRST CLASS on Singapore Airlines
to San Francisco America
The Private Room at Singapore Airlines & St Regis Hotel San Francisco
Flying FIRST CLASS on SINGAPORE AIRLINES!

I would like to share my Singapore Airlines First Class Experience with my friends and loved ones. A First Class ticket from Singapore to San Francisco cost around SGD15,000. Expensive but highly memorable! The Singapore Airlines First Class service was immaculate from the moment I stepped out of my car till I landed. Most Singapore Airlines flight leaves from Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 3

Gate 1 is specially designed and reserved for First Class ticket holders. The moment I stepped out of the car, the Concierge Service rolled a trolley towards my car without any delay. The Bell Boy picked up all my bags and guided me to their exclusive First Class Check In Lounge. The baggage counter officer tagged my checked in luggages with a PRIORITY TAG. This is special First Class Passengers' privilege to be able to retrieve their bags before others traveling on the same flight. This saves precious time as I do not need to wait very long to collect my bags after landing.

There is also a separate Passport and Customs channel that is only reserved for the First Class passengers to go into the Departure Hall. It is situated at the end of Terminal 3 just right across the First Class Check In Lounge, nearer to Gate 1 and the Coffee Club Cafe.

As a First Class Passenger, I was invited to Singapore Airlines Lounge. There are 2 separate lounges for the VIPs of the airlines: First Class and Business Class Passengers. The First Class Passengers would be invited to Singapore Airlines: THE PRIVATE ROOM. It is definitely exclusive and the VIP treatment was highly enjoyable! When I walked into The Private Room, the door lady who viewed my ticket, greeted me by Miss Lim

The Private Room is huge, spacious, and filled with many Computers, Magazines, Newspapers, etc. Unlike the Business Class Lounge where there would be a buffet spread for Business Class passengers to take their own food and drinks, The Private Room has a certain level of class, whereby a butler would greet, serve you and attend to your needs in a very polite manner. I was given a choice to sit in the lounge area or the fine dining area. I chose to have some fruits and coffee at the dining area before my flight. I was able to relaxed and get served by a butler in pure comfort and bliss.

Time passed really quickly when you are enjoying the great service and ambience of the Private Room. When it was time for boarding, I was informed by an officer that my "BUGGY RIDE" was here and was ready to send me to the Boarding Gate. It was a fun experience as the cold wind blew against my face as we zoomed passed all the other passengers walking to their gates. I enjoyed the buggy ride to my gate and like the fact that I did not have to walk instead.

When I reached the Gate, the First Class passengers were invited to board the plane before the rest of the Passengers, next it was the Business Class passengers, then the PPS - Priority Passenger Service, then the Economy passengers. So everything ran really smoothly, without much time wasted.

The moment I stepped into the Plane, the IFS - In Flight Supervisor greeted me by Miss Lim. It is a form of recognition, which is only done in First Class and Business Class. The great news about taking First Class is that we not NOT limited to just 1 cabin bag. First Class passengers are allowed 2 Cabin Bags, 1 Handbag and 1 Computer Bag. And the best thing was, I was able to put these bags under my seats. It was easy for me to retrieve my items during the flight. Most Business Class seats on Singapore Airlines, do not have such leg room for passengers to sit comfortably if they were to put their bags under the seat, there was Limited LEG ROOM.

The moment I settled down, Champagne, newspapers and magazines were served and a sleeping GIVENCHY "PYJAMAS" and Bedroom Slippers were given. I was also given a personal KIEHL'S Toiletries Bag, which includes a body lotion, lip gloss, facial foam, facial toner, etc.

Before the plane took off, the pretty stewardess asked me for my Supper choice.

The food served was delicious. I choose to have their beef served medium rare. The rest of the food was really delicious too! Cheese and Desert was served as well. I chose to have Red Wine to complement my Beef and Port to together with my cheeses. Somehow, no matter how much I drink, the glass would never go empty. That was because the attentive cabin crew would always top up my wine glass each time they serve a new dish and take time to check whether my glass was empty.

First Class Service was at its optimum level. I watched endless amount of movies in that extremely long flight, that includes a short 1 hour Transit in Hong Kong before we moved on to San Francisco. This is when the ground staff would clean and vacuum the plane back to its pristine order before more passengers board the plane from Hong Kong to San Francisco.

For breakfast, I choose to have their Oriental DIM SUM Meal. It tasted delicious too! There were not many passengers in First Class. I noticed the old man seated beside me had 2 little stuffed toys to accompany him through the flight. Pretty strange but very cute right? :)

Before I landed into San Francisco, I handed out a Token of Appreciation for their service to the whole set of Singapore Airlines cabin crew. It is a Tradition that cabin crew usually practice when we are being served as passengers by other fellow colleagues.

I gave each of them my SaraShantelle Black Bamboo Bar - which is a unisex product suitable for both men and women. It is retailing at S$29 at Clariancy Outlets, Zalora.sg, SASA Cosmetics & www.SaraShantelle.com. It maybe used for ultra sensitive skin, and even Eczema skin. Babies may also use this bar of soap. It may be used as a Head to Toe - Hair, Face and Body wash. People with pigmentation skin, may also reduce their freckles, as this magical bar of soap lightens scars and old age spots too. Of course, like all my other beauty products, it smells deliciously good!

When I arrived at San Francisco, I stayed at The St Regis Hotel Suite. The room had a paranomic view. It was spacious and elegantly designed. There was a walkway to enter to the private suite, a dining area, the living area, a huge bedroom and a huge bathroom with 2 sinks, 1 big bathtub and 1 shower area. It was cozy and I felt comfortable having such a lovely hotel suite to myself. I was able to lounge around the spacious suite and work on my laptop comfortably.

Soon, it was time for me to return to Singapore! The San Francisco Airport lounge is NOTHING compared to Singapore Airlines First Class and Business Class lounges. It was just a STAR Alliance lounge whereby the food and drinks were pretty limited. On the way back, the IFS was really kind to help me take a photo that I needed to submit to www.WaredrobeTrendsFashion.com (WTF) for the "Who's that Hottie?" interview article.

Overall, traveling First Class on Singapore Airlines was the ultimate VIP experience that is truly memorable! This short business trip has been a rather fruitful one as well :) Visit www.sarashantelle.com for more information about my own company today!

The French House - Cafe Review

The French House located on 1 Danks Street, Waterloo (beside Hillsongs Church) in Sydney is recommended to me by a lovely girlfriend Sisi Soh. It is an elegant, plush high-end Parisian cafe decorated with heavy gold framed mirrors and Victorian style furniture, old charm stylized velvet chairs, beautiful crystal chandeliers and aristocratic paintings. If you love French croissants, this is the place to be! They do not take reservations and I heard weekends can be extremely crowded. It is about 15 mins drive from Sydney City.

The staff were friendly and offered me free tasting of some cinnamon buns which melts in my mouth. It was fantastic! Some critics mentioned that this faux-french cafe is overpriced but I do not mind paying more for the quality food, ambience and service. I guess because of the price, the crowd tends to be the more well-dressed and affluent one. I prefer quiet cafes compared to the noisy, crowded ones with rowdy patrons.

Their breakfast menu is rather small but the food tasted remarkably good! Overall, food and ambience was excellent and I highly recommend this place for breakfast, brunch and coffee! We ordered the French Toast with fresh bananas, maple syrup and vanilla ice cream and it was delicious. It is sweet, yummy and perks you up for the rest of the day. We also tried the Croque Monsieur - ham, gruyere, béchamel which tasted better than the French Toast as it is more savory and not too sweet. The bread was warm, crisp and perfect! Service staff were friendly too and I enjoyed relaxing in this warm cozy cafe! The Ice Mocha drink was well-made with generous servings of chocolate.

We did not try any sweet pastries as we could not even finish our breakfast! It was very filling indeed! The next time we visit this place, we will try their mouth-watering French desserts and pastries that looked too good to be eaten! These well-crafted cakes are absolutely sinful and decadent!!! The French House is a fine piece of gem indeed!

Flying BUSINESS CLASS on Hong Kong Airlines to Hong Kong

Having flown for 5 years as an ex air stewardess, I always wondered how all the other different airlines work! How their food was served? What service ware do they use? Whether their cabin crew provided good service or not. So I decided to try out the new Hong Kong Airlines when I travelled to Hong Kong for a business trip and I bought a Business Class air ticket! I fly to Hong Kong pretty often for beauty exhibitions, conferences and for marketing research purposes. If you are wondering, what do I do for a living, you may find out by checking out my business website: www.SaraShantelle.com

Hong Kong Airlines provided excellent service on their Business Class. I was really impressed by their new "Television" system, whereby it was "TOUCH SCREEN" and user-friendly. The food was decent. Their seats were the standard business class seats you have on most airlines. They gave out purple "BEDROOM" slippers and had plenty of cabin crew serving their business class. Service was attentive and excellent. The air ticket was awesomely cheap as compared to most other airlines. During take off and landing, they would play their "HONG KONG AIRLINES" company song, which was soothing to the ears. Not all airlines would play music during take offs and landings and I guess this is to calm passengers down. It must have proven quite effective! It was an interesting experience!

Of course, how can a visit to Hong Kong without some "PLAY TIME"!?

I visited The Peak Lookout at Hong Konghttp://www.peaklookout.com.hk/
The Peak Outlook is located on the landmark of the Peak, with an open terrace overlooking Aberdeen. The restaurant retains the History of the 19th Century, when the city was not so affluent.

The Peak Hong Konghttp://www.thepeak.com.hk/en/
It is a must visit! There are many nice restaurants and activities available. I would recommend that you take the Peak Tram if you would like to enjoy the skyline of Hong Kong. Other activities includes the Nature Walks & The History Gallery which are fairly interesting!

The Peak Lookout is famous for their Beef Steak. I ordered a Rib Eye cooked till Medium Rare (It is most tender to consume beef at Medium Rare). This place gives me a very nostalgic feeling. The whole architecture is very woody and there were a lot of old school Black and White frames on their walls. The lighting is dimmed to create a romantic atmosphere especially for couples!

As you can see, I enjoy eating Oysters. For all the oyster lovers out there, Sheraton Hotel's top level - Oyster Bar and Restaurant is an excellent restaurant to indulge in your cravings. Their oysters range from the sweet to salty. From small to big. There are a few Sheraton Hotels in Hong Kong, this is the one located across the road from the famous The Grand Peninsular Hotel, whereby they are known for their decadent "High Tea". This oyster bar also serves really amazing Crab Cakes, Foie Gras (Goose or Duck fatty Liver) and Lobster Bisque Soup.

Their Apple Crumble Cake is served together with a Creamy Vanilla Ice Cream to complete my meal.

I really like the beautiful views of Hong Kong especially from the top of the Peak but the air there very polluted at times. For those suffering from Asthma, you are advised to bring a MASK there!

XOXO

Visiting England - London & Brighton during Mardi Gras: Gays & Lesbians Event

Visiting England during Mardi Gras (Gays & Lesbian Event)

I love musicals! Whenever I travel to London or New York, I look forward to catch one of their musicals. I watched Billy Elliot the musical. It was extremely good and touching. The little boy was a great actor and talented dancer. Tickets pricing start from 19.50 pounds, and the most expensive is selling at 85 pounds. http://billyelliotthemusical.com/london-site.

I visited the London Eye, Big Ben, London Dungeons, Buckingham Palace, and some of their local markets and cafes. Now, I wouldn't want to blog about those places, I think that blogging about their Gay events are much more interesting.

My favourite restaurant is L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon. It is a 2 Michelin Stars restaurant located at London's - Covent Garden. This award winning restaurant offers a choice of counter or table seating. Simplicity, imagination and unrivaled quality top the bill. I really love the idea that every single Joel Robuchon restaurant has the same Red & Black themed concept and design. They are my favourite colours. The restaurant had dim lightings to create a relaxing atmosphere for the comfort of all their guests.

My girlfriend, decided to take me there! We chose to sit at the counter top so that we can enjoy watching the cute French chefs work on their master piece. They were really friendly, they gave us quite a few complimentary side dishes, and even gave us a tour of their kitchen. Aren't we lucky?

Our favourite dish was their ice cream which was served in a "Glass Ball". But fact is, it isn't glass, but it looks like one. It was actually a layer of shiny sweet covering that looks like glass, but it is edible. I think it might be made of caramel.

I also met my other very close girlfriend, Nicole, to catch another musical in London. It was my second time watching Wicked The Musical and it was probably her third time. We absolutely loveeeee Musicals! Wicked was very entertaining. Their Green costumes, voices and dance moves were amazing. We also had our portrait drawn at the Madison Square in London. That was where we managed to grab really Cheap Last Minute musical tickets at a really Low Price.

My girlfriend Rachel and I went to a London Gay Club and tried a shot of Absinthe, also commonly known as the "Green Fairy". It is referred to in historical literature as "la fée verte". Absinthe has often been portrayed as a dangerously addictive psychoactive drug. The chemical compound thujone, although present in the spirit in only trace amounts, was often blamed for its harmful effects. By 1915, absinthe had been banned in USA, Europe, France, Netherlands, etc.

A lot of people have the misconception that Absinthe is banned or illegal in Singapore due to its high alcohol content. But I have found 5 Bars in Singapore whereby you may try this drink. It is distasteful, but many people still enjoy drinking it. There is even a bar in Singapore named after this drink: Absinthe Bar.
List of the 5 Bars that carries Absinthe: http://www.timeoutsingapore.com/clubs/feature/5-bars-to-drink-absinthe

The streets of London are constantly filled with carnivals and parties. One of my favourite was their GAY & LESBIANS Mardi Gras Event. The streets were filled with colours and people dressing up in all kinds of costumes. People were dressed in bright neon colours and many were dancing on their roof tops. The whole experience was refreshing as everyone was merry and in high spirits. Rachel and I continued Gay Club Hopping for the rest of our day. I must say, Gay Clubs are way more happening than the usual straight clubs. It was an exciting and interesting club hopping experience.

Brighton is known as the GAY Capital of England. The little shops and houses there are brightly painted in many different bright neon colours. They have the highest gay and lesbians population. It is a very colourful neighborhood with many interesting Sex Shops and Sex Cafes.

Mardi Gras events promote their pride in their choice of sexuality. Mardi Gras events have 3 main premises.
1. Gay people should be proud of their sexual orientation and gender identity.
2. Their sexuality is a Gift.
3. Their gender identity are inherent and cannot be intentionally altered by social expectations.

In our globalized world, many societies are becoming more and more open/liberal. Mardi Gras events have been celebrated in many other countries such as in Sydney etc.

London is my favourite city to watch musicals and plays. Another thing that I love about England is that, the men there speaks with the Queen's English. Men who speak perfect English in British accent are simply charming to the ladies...what do you think?

XOXO
