Fine Dining: Lawry's The Prime Rib Singapore at Mandarin Gallery Orchard

Fine Dining
Lawry's The Prime Rib Singapore
Mandarin Gallery Orchard 4th Level

Its time for my annual dinner with my good friend, Lawry's Prime Rib Singapore Owner - Mr Juan. I went there with 2 beautiful girlfriends, called Natasha and Mish. I love it when 3 pretty girls are out together. It really sad that Lora, couldn't join us this time round. Apparently, Lora and Mr Juan have known each other for more than 8 years! So long!

This is the boss, Mr Juan, he speaks great Spanish and English and he's always looking so suave in his "Man In Black" outfits and sunglasses. You would think that maybe a successful business man like him would be really fierce or proud, but no.... He's super fun to hang out with. He's filled with really funny jokes and stories. He's really nice and friendly to all his diners at his restaurant too. Next time, if you see him at his restaurant, feel free to say "hi" to him. He's really awesome! Like all excellent fine dining restaurants, he believes in amazing customer service! He occasionally, do his rounds, and chat with his diners, and he appreciates progressive feedbacks.

I was so happy that Natasha and Mish could join me for dinner too! Its always great to have beautiful company who can really eat and appreciate meaty food. Natasha and Mish are two really slim girls, but we still managed to finish our food, that's how delicious Lawry's food is. Everything served there is worth the calories.

Before dinner was served, Mr Juan introduced us his favourite drink, The Apple Martini, its really sweet and delicious. Natasha and Mish favourite girly drink was a Green Toxic Liqueur called, Bubbly Melon. It is slightly sour, but definitely a good drink to "open up" our stomachs before our big feast.

Our first dish was their "Famous Original Spinning Bowl Salad", which was mixed in front of our table by their sexy and cute French-maid dressed waitresses. I just simply love their Lawry's uniforms. It is really fun when you can see how your food is being prepared right in front of you. She spins that big metal bowl while she mixes crisp romaine and iceberg lettuce, watercress, shredded beets, chopped eggs and croutons, tossed with their exclusive Lawry's vintage dressing on a bed of ice. Its no wonder, they served us CHILLED forks from their fridge for our salad.

FUN FACT: Lawry's will serve you a CHILLED fork from their fridge, so that you may enjoy your salad to the fullest. Talk about service to the utmost!?

After our salad, we had their "Freshly Shucked Canadian Oysters"! I love their oysters. Extremely fresh seafood and high quality. Their oysters tasted really heavenly. I had mine with some Tabasco and lemon.

After the oysters, we each had 2 "Atlantic Lobster Tails", which was air flown directly from the Atlantic. It was ridiculously sweet and tasty. Mr Juan said that the moment it was caught, it is chilled, not frozen, to maintain its freshness, and air flown on the same day, till it reaches Singapore.  It is complimented by a delicious butter sauce, definitely a must try dish at Lawry's. Very impressive lobsters indeed!

Talk about feasting like a King or Queen - I love it when Lawry's would wheel their "Silver Cart", right to our table, to serve us our "California Cut" Beef. This California Cut is 160g which is suitable for the lighter appetites. Their tasty beef is complimented by their Creamy Spinach, Idaho mashed potatoes, Sweet Corn and their Yorkshire Pudding that was baked in small skillets until it is puffy and golden brown. I really love the Yorkshire pudding and it is my all time favourite dish at Lawry's.

I'm a beef eater, and I mean it when I say, I want it "Medium Rare", that's the best way to appreciate beef. Not many restaurants have the skills or abilities to deliver "Medium Rare" beef to me. So I'm very impressed, not only by their amazing customer service, but also their very talented Chef~.

FUN FACT: Beef is best eaten, when cooked at Medium Rare. A good chef would be able to serve it soft, pink, not bloody.

Lawry's restaurants have a 74 year history when it was first established since 1938. In 1999, Lawry's was first opened at Paragon Shopping Mall in Singapore. In 2010, Lawry's Singapore relocated to Mandarin Gallery, Meritus Mandarin Hotel Singapore and re-created the interior design of the restaurant to be more majestic and charming so that diners feel like royalty! Dining in a magical setting is relaxing indeed!

For over 6 decades, Lawry's The Prime Rib has been internationally recognized for serving the finest quality beef. Every standing rib roast is specially selected, then aged and slow roasted for natural tenderness. Late founder Mr. Lawrence L. Frank designed the "Silver Cart" so that beef can be carved out at the table side to impress diners with their beautiful presentation and to ensure that the beef are served to the table hot and fresh.

We spotted this Lawry's Code of Ethics outside their restaurant. We were very intrigued by it!

Mr Dwyer Ogle - Dealer Principal & Owner of Lamborghini Sydney

SYDNEY - Autosports Lamborghini Sydney Newly Opened on Parramatta Road, Leichhardt - After much anticipation and patient waiting, Lamborghini Sydney finally opened its doors at a newly refurbished showroom with a magnificent display of the Lamborghini Aventador Spider right at its front doors.

I was deeply honored to meet Mr Dwyer Ogle who is the Dealer Principal & Owner of the Lamborghini Sydney dealership who brought me on a private tour of the entire showroom and technical workshop. It was an eye-opener as the vast showroom was extremely spacious and he was patiently explaining to me his upcoming plans for Lamborghini owners in Sydney. I am looking forward to more Lamborghini Club events taking place at this brand new Autosports Lamborghini Sydney showroom.

I was also introduced to the Brand Manager - Yvonne Buchreiter who was a graceful and classy Italian lady who enticed me to buy the Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4 which was just launched yesterday at the Geneva Motor Show. At an affordable price of AUD465,000, the Lamborghini Huracan could be yours to drive home but if you prefer a more stylish car with the addition of various options, a more realistic price tag would be a sweet AUD500,000 including on roads. Below is the photo of my dream Lamborghini Huracan with glass engine windows, red calipers, brand styling, yellow interior leather chair stitchings etc. The first few Huracans will be delivered to Sydney owners by Oct 2014. I can't wait to see these lovely machines along Sydney roads.

Below are more photos taken at this newly opened Autosports Lamborghini Sydney :)

To end off this blog post, here are some lovely photos I took at the famous Sydney Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House with my new Car Plate numbers "88" which are extremely Lucky Numbers!!! I really love my yellow Lamborghini Gallardo Spider :)

TRAVEL - Sara Shantelle Lim Flying First Class on Singapore Airlines to Sydney Australia to visit sister Lora Christelle Lim

Flying First Class on Singapore Airlines to Sydney Australia
to visit Lora Christelle Lim

I love flying First Class on Singapore Airlines. It is one of the Best Airlines In The World voted by Traveller's World Magazine (Germany) for the 3rd consecutive year and Top Worldwide Airlines by Wanderlust Travel Award (UK) for the 6th consecutive year, 11th time in the awards. Singapore Airlines is voted the Top 50 World's Most Admired Companies in Fortune Magazine (USA), ranked at 31st. It is also the Best Airline of the Year by the 2012 Golden Chair Award (China). It is voted "Best of the Best" for the Best International First Class and Business Class Travel, also for their outstanding A380 Product, under the Hurun Report in China

I love Singapore Changi Airport too! It has been voted the World's Best Airport at the 2013 World Airport Awards held at the Passenger Terminal EXPO in Geneva. This is the 4th time that Changi Airport have won this award. This award was voted by airport passengers from all over the world, based on a 12.1 million survey responses.

I fly to Sydney pretty often to visit Lora on numerous occasions. Lora takes me out to visit many places in Sydney.

Sydney Chinatown

Chinatown is located in an urban locality in the southern part of Sydney Central Business District, in New South Wales. It is located at Haymarket and is Australia's biggest Chinatown. We spotted a very cute little cosy shop that sells fragrances and pretty tea pots. The place smells incredible.

Queen Victoria Building

The Queen Victoria Building (QVB) is a late nineteenth century building located in the Central Business District of Sydney. This building is a 3 minutes walk from Lora's place. This Romanesque Revival building was designed by George McRae and was constructed between 1893 and 1898. It is located around George, Market, York and Druitt Streets. This building is filled with luxury brands like Ferragamo, Versace, etc. My favourite shop is their Australian Haigh's Chocolates.

The building is very nicely furnished. There is a grand piano in the middle of the shopping mall whereby a pianist would play their beautiful music pieces to sooth the shoppers in the mall. A lot of upper class like to go to their coffee and tea sessions.
QVB Official Website: www.QVB.com.au

The Tea Room (QVB)

The Tea Room is very beautiful and elegantly designed High Tea place. This is where we indulged in their wide variety of tea and gourmet coffee. The pastries and scones served were delectable.

To celebrate the Autumn Winter Season, there is an exclusive Fashion High Tea Event in The Tea Room on 25 May 2013. You are able to enjoy your High Tea whilst enjoy a showcase of the key Autumn Winter Collections from QVB Fashion Stores. You may also enjoy express manicures, lipstick touch ups by Aveda and L'Occitane hand spas. Each guest would receive a complimentary gift bag and stand a chance to win a prepaid $1000 MasterCard card, sponsored by Sydney Breast Cancer Foundation.

Sydney Darling Harbour

Darling Harbour is a harbour located in the city centre of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It is named after a Lieutenant General called Ralph Darling. During the Great Depression, the eastern part of Darling Harbour became known as The Hungry Mile, where water side workers swarmed to look for jobs along the wharves. It is currently the home location for many places of interest, such as the Sydney Aquarium, Natural Wildlife Park, Maritime Museum, etc. There are also a lot of restaurants located there. I have visited quite a few different ones.

Magaritaville @ Sydney Darling Harbour

Magaritaville is located at the start of Darling Harbour nearer to Wharf 7. The play loud live music there and I assure you that the band that plays there, is more drunk than anyone else in the house. The sings like a total drunken, but he sounds super good in the drunk way. It was very entertaining to watch him perform. My favourite dish there was the NACHOS. It was a mountain of Nachos. Totally sinful, but extremely delicious. This particular dish may be shared with 3-4 friends, together with their signature Magaritas.

Australian National Maritime Museum

The Australian National Maritime Musem (ANMM) is located at Sydney Darling Harbour. The museum building was designed by Philip Cox. It was official opened in 1991 after much delays. The museum has 7 main galleries, focusing on the relationships between the Australian Aborigines and the water. There are 3 Museum Ships - The HM Bark Endeavour Replica, The Destroyer HMAS Vampire and the Submarine HMAS Onslow, which are open to public, while smaller historical vessels may be viewed from the outside.
ANMM Official Website: http://www.anmm.gov.au/site/page.cfm

I was lucky enough to take some photos with some maritime students who were there for their class excursions. They were very friendly students. Next up, my parents and I went to The Star Casino to play some Texas Holdem Poker and we also watched The Musical - The War Horse

CYREN Darling Harbour

CYREN is a grill bar and restaurant that serves amazing fresh seafood. Its prime location of being the first restaurant in front of Darling Harbour when you are walking from the IMAX Cinema, it is easily spotted by all patrons. It is a relaxing place to enjoy the whole view of the darling harbour while dining al fresco. It is the perfect location to watch the Saturday night fireworks at 8pm while feasting of their freshly served seafood. The best time to dine there is when the sun is setting. Just look at how beautiful the purple skies is, it is undoubtedly the most spectacular view of Darling Harbour. After my dinner, I went back to Fraser Suites Hotel to have a good night's rest.

Fraser Suites Hotel Sydney

Fraser Suites Hotel is located at Kent Street. It is very close to Lora's Sydney apartment, hence I deciede to stay walking distance to her. Fraser Suites is a 42 level tower which offers 201 self  contained lucury studios and apartments. It is a 6-metre rainfall chandelier when you enter their lobby. A very modern and luxury hotel suite. It cost approximately AUD$285 - AUD$390 a night for a One Bedroom Premier Apartment.

Sydney Fraser Suites Address: 488 Kent Street, Sydney, NSW 2000.

Fuku Sake & Wine Bar
World Square Sydney

So, apart from just visiting my dearest sister, Lora. I also met up with some friends, Matthew and Mitchel. We went to Fuku Sake and Wine Bar at World Square Building for dinner. The food there was really tasty. The design of the place was woody. The restaurant have a large array of wine from Australian, French, etc. We had some cold sake together with our food. The dim setting is really romantic. I love the ambience there. Very peaceful and cosy.

Westfield Sydney

The next day, I also went to Westfield to check out their retail shops. There's this tea shop, called Tea Too that caught my attention. They sell many different types of tea. It looks really cute. There are quite a few tea that you can try while you decide on which tea to buy. We also had some Macarons and coffee at Australia's first Ladurée, located at Westfield. It has a super long queue but we still managed to get seats there.

Celebrity Chef Jamie Oliver

James Trevor "Jamie" Oliver is a British Chef and Media personality. known for his television shows and cook books. He is known for his good looks and he strives to improve unhealthy diets and poor cooking habits in the United Kingdom and United States. Oliver is famous for his Italian cuisines. He has his own restaurant in Sydney. Rachel, Lora and I decided to try out their food. We had their pastas. The place is really trendy and they do not take reservations (unless you have a table of 6-20 people). It is purely walk-ins only. So by 5pm, you will see a long queue forming outside their place. Most of the people would wait at their bar and enjoy some pre-dinner drinks before their meal.

There's so many other places that I have visited in Sydney, but I do want this blog post to be too long.  I am planning to go to Sydney around end of July 2013 to Snow Ski. I will post more about Sydney again real soon.

SYDNEY - Hyams Beach - Guinness Book of Records as The World's Whitest Sand

HYAMS BEACH
Sydney, New South Wales, South Coast region

SYDNEY - Hyams Beach - Guinness Book of Records World's Whitest Sand - Located approximately 2.5 - 3 hours drive away from Sydney City, Hyams Beach in Shoalhaven, New South Wales, Australia is the perfect beach holiday attraction for locals as well as international tourists. The sand is so white you would not believe that it's real until you see it with your own eyes. A highly recommended open uncrowded beautiful beach to visit in this lifetime! Australia has so many beautiful natural surroundings and I enjoy driving around exploring them one by one! Sydney is never boring!

Hyams Beach which stretches around 2km faces east across Jervis Bay and point perpendicular to the Pacific Ocean. It features the World's Whitest Sand which is brilliantly white, soft and made of fine particles of quartz which results in its shimmering luster. The beautiful soft white sand is like the icing sugar on my cupcakes which glows! Hyams beach also is rated as the Number 1 attraction in Jervis Bay on Tripadvisor. No wonder everyone is talking about Hyams Beach and its incredible beauty...

Lora Christelle's dress is from DOTTI

After parking my car in the tiny car park, I took off my slippers and ran towards Hyams Beach as I was full of excitement and delight. Sinking my bare feet into the soft white sand felt amazing as though I was sinking my toes into white baking flour. If everyone on the beach wore white clothings, I could almost picture myself in "heaven" surrounded by white surroundings and angels. Thank God for his beautiful creations! Mother Nature never fail to surprise me indeed! I spent a wonderful time walking around the beach, chasing after seagulls and building mini sand-castles with my bare hands :)

Oh yes, not forgetting that I had delicious Fish & Chips for lunch at HYAMS BEACH STORE AND CAFE which is conveniently located beside Hyams Beach. It is a lovely cafe with wonderful service and decent food for beachside customers.
