A fascinating journey back through time to learn more about the personal life of Ferruccio Lamborghini...

Tonino Lamborghini - the son of Founder - Ferruccio Lamborghini

FERRUCCIO LAMBORGHINI FAMILY MUSEUM - For any true Lamborghini fan or simply a car lover, a visit to the Ferruccio Lamborghini Family Museum cannot be missed when visiting Italy. Located in Funo, this family museum was started by Tonino Lamborghini who is the son of founder - Ferruccio Lamborghini in remembrance and honor of his father and currently managed by Fabio Lamborghini who is his nephew. Inside this museum, visitors are able to experience and learn more about the personal life of Ferruccio Lamborghini. With more than 1000 photographs, newspaper articles and biography materials displayed on the wall depicting the history of his life and family, the brilliant founder of Lamborghini - Ferruccio Lamborghini's remarkable legacy is revealed in a very intimate manner. This museum is definitely a celebration of Ferruccio Lamborghini's magnificent works and how he impacted the car industry, leaving an imprint that lasts forever. It is also a reflection of Tonino Lamborghini and Fabio Lamborghini's commitment to keep the memories of Ferruccio Lamborghini alive and close to their hearts.

Ferruccio Lamborghini specially designed and built a Lamborghini TOY car for his son!

LAMBORGHINI "BULL" LOGO - Founding father of Lamborghini - Ferruccio Lamborghini was born under the astrological sign of the bull and often associated physically with this animal as the bull is stout and possesses great fighting spirit. He often likened himself to a bull by saying "I am brawny like a bull!" and believed that "you either get trampled by a bull or you get out of its way!". Ferruccio Lamborghini was definitely a gifted man full of interesting ideas, energy, life and character!

FABIO LAMBORGHINI - I was very honored to meet Fabio Lamborghini in person who welcomed us with open arms when we arrived at the museum. He was friendly, warm and full of enthusiasm in showing us around the museum. He was the key man in charge of the museum who gave us a guided tour around the spacious museum, explaining everything to us with such passion and pride. As we were led around the museum by Fabio, we learned so much more about the history of Ferruccio Lamborghini and the Lamborghini brand. It was definitely an eye-opener as though we were taking a spectacular walk through history!

LAMBORGHINI CARS & OTHER DISPLAY - Inside the museum, there was a massive display of tractors, air conditioners, Vespas, bicycles, engines, a helicopter, motor boats, many Lamborghini iconic cars and earlier days prototypes. We were shown the bright red Lamborghini Miura SV, the only one in the world with "eyelashes" which once belonged to Ferruccio Lamborghini himself. We were very surprised to learn that Ferruccio Lamborghini started out building tractors. then moving on to building air-conditioners, motor boats and even a helicopter! As the Italian government had a monopoly on building helicopters during that time, he was not allowed to continue building it. On a personal level, I was deeply impressed to learn that Ferruccio Lamborghini came from a humble background and started as a farmer. His exponential growth and talent that eventually led to the establishment of the Lamborghini brand is one to be admired. He can build almost anything and everything! Ferruccio Lamborghini is truly a legendary icon and a man I have deep admiration and respect for! A man with great foresight, creativity and innovation.

Founder of Lamborghini - Ferruccio Lamborghini

ABOUT FERRUCCIO LAMBORGHINI - Born on 28 April 1916 in Renazzo on a family farm, Ferruccio Lamborghini was a man gifted with the talent of building and mechanics. His parents sent him out to work in the fields as a farmer but his true passion and interest was in farming machinery instead of its lifestyle and work. In 1948, he started a company - Lamborghini Trattori which dealt with Agricultural equipment and primarily focused on the tractor manufacturing business. His company grew quickly after World War II and became one of the most important agricultural manufacturer in the midst of Italy's post war reform. After having accumulated significant wealth, Ferruccio Lamborghini started an expensive collection of cars which include Alfa Romeos and Lancias in the early 1950s, a Mercedes-Benz 300SL, 2 Maserati 3500 GTs - a two seater coupe, a Jaguar E type coupe etc. In 1958, he went to Maranello to purchase a Ferrari 250GT, a Scaglietti designed 250 SWB Berlinetta and a 250GT 2+2 four seater. He thought that Ferrari cars were fast and good but requires some improvement to be proper comfortable cars. Furthermore, he discovered that Ferrari cars were made with inferior clutches which resulted in his continuous and several journeys back to Maranello to fix the problem with his cars. He brought his dissatisfaction to Enzo Ferrari's attention but was dismissed. After successfully modifying his own Ferrari 250GT to outperform the original stock models, Ferruccio Lamborghini decided to venture into the automobile manufacturing industry with the dream and aim of creating his own super car which no-one could deliver to him. That is how the Lamborghini dream was born!

Private Lunch with Fabio Lamborghini

After completing the museum visit, Fabio Lamborghini took us out for a private lunch with him where we indulged in authentic Italian cuisine in alfresco dining style by the beautiful gardens. I also got him to sign his name on all the Lamborghini Family merchandise I bought for myself and friends from the Lamborghini Club of Australia NSW Members club. Thank you Fabio Lamborghini for the wonderful and warm hospitality! You made our visit to the Ferruccio Lamborghini Family Museum a truly memorable and splendid experience indeed!

SYDNEY - Lamborghini Club NSW Sydney Drive to Centennial Vineyards at Bowral on 28 Sept 2014

Lora Christelle Lim going bananas on yellow Lamborghini Gallardos

SYDNEY - Lamborghini Club NSW Sydney Drive to Centennial Vineyards at Bowral - I woke up super early in the morning to get ready as I was feeling extremely excited about going for this Lamborghini Club NSW Sydney drive as the President - Mr John Edwards told me that there was going to be a huge turnout with more than 30 cars and I was not disappointed. It was great that other car models were allowed to join us Lamborghini car owners as well. Clearly, the Lamborghini Club is not snobbish in any way and is extremely friendly, welcoming and inviting towards other car enthusiasts. I was dressed in my new bright yellow shorts to match the colour of my yellow Lamborghini Gallardo Spider together with my lovely Louis Vuitton Epi leather Alma handbag :) Thank you sister Sara Shantelle Lim for giving me a gorgeous LV scarf to tie on the bag too!

LIVE VIDEOS -  I reminded myself that this time, no matter what, I must remember to take live videos to capture the amazing moments of driving in a colourful convoy of Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Aston Martins, Audi R8, Panteras etc. Check out 8 awesome Youtube videos I took during this drive :) I must admit it was extremely difficult for me to take good videos as I had to stretch out my hands really high and zoom in on the fast moving cars around me. I don't have very long arms you know! Furthermore, the wind was blowing very strongly and my slim and thin iPhone was almost blown off my hands as we were traveling at high speeds on the Highway roads. It was a beautiful sunny day for us car enthusiasts and we enjoyed the drive tremendously. Special thanks to Mr John Edwards for organizing this!

AUBURN - Upon arriving at the first meeting point at D'elegance Showroom at Auburn, there was already quite a number of cars. It was great to meet new people again and I must say that so far, all the car enthusiasts I have met are extremely nice, sincere and down to earth people. I enjoy talking to the different people and take photos of their precious cars. If you noticed the car plates in my photos, they do reveal individual characteristics of their very own car owners. Such as the car plate 'H3art" actually belongs to a Cardiologist! Very interesting indeed! I am still wondering if the car plate "A" actually refers to the Apple fruit or the Alpha male? *winks- You guys wouldn't want to know what my signature car plate means as it is totally hilarious!

HEATHCOTE STATION - When we arrived at the second checkpoint in Heathcote, it was a splendid sight to see a beautiful lineup of more Lamborghinis and other cars! We quickly drove off as the surrounding traffic around us were slowing down to take photos of our cars and causing a huge traffic jam. We drove towards Berry for light morning breakfast. I seriously needed a coffee!

BERRY - At this third meeting point, we stopped for morning breakfast and coffee at a small cafe. It was great to watch many children from this local town getting excited about taking photos with our cars and it was always nice to see that our beautiful cars were able to put smiles on other people's faces especially the little kids. Most of the children were fascinated by the Black and Green Lamborghini Aventador as it reminded them of Batman or Green Lantern.

CENTENNIAL VINEYARDS, Bowral - Our final destination was a relaxing and delicious lunch at Centennial Vineyards in Bowral. It was a 3 course meal and it was great catching up with fellow friends. Do take a look at the customized Lambo Menu! We also took a group photo at the end together on the steps before heading home. I must also hereby confess that I sneakily exchanged my pudding with someone else's cheesecake :X Hopefully he wasn't too mad!

VIDEOS - Here are 4 out of 8 videos I took. You can find the rest on my YouTube. Just Google or Youtube search "Lora Christelle Lim"

CARS - The New Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4 unveiled at Clifford Pier, Singapore with CEO of Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A - Mr Stephan Winkelmann

Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4
Venue - Clifford Pier, Fullerton Bay Hotel, Singapore

6 Sept 2014 - The all new Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4 was unveiled at Clifford Pier, Singapore over a delightful dinner. Exotic car enthusiasts and Lamborghini aficionados finally got their dreams come true as the muchly anticipated car has arrived in Singapore. Together with charismatic President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A - Mr Stephan Winkelmann, the inaugural ceremony was attended by VIP guests where most of them consist of members of Lamborghini Club Singapore, Ferrari Club Singapore and the Exotic Car Club Singapore. Invited guests were treated to a sumptuous seafood buffet and drinks while marveling at the sheer beauty of this new Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4. It was a wonderful evening and I was glad to be there on this very special occasion :)

Lamborghini Huracán - This new super car is powered by a 5.2 litre V10 engine, produces 448kW and 560Nm of torque. It has a remarkable 3.2 seconds run from 0 km/h to 100km/h and is able to hit 200 km/h in just 9.9 seconds. Top speed is high at 325km/h. It has a dry weight of 1,422 kg which results in an excellent power to weight ratio of 2.33 kg per horse power. This guarantees a race-car precision of outstanding stability and stiffness. With the use of more carbonfibre, the Huracan's chassis is lighter and stronger which results in improved performance and spending an average fuel 12.5 litres of fuel per 100 kilometers.

Huracan vs the Gallardo - The Huracan is the successor to the Gallardo and priced slightly lower than the Gallardo to make it more affordable. The Gallardo sold at a total number of 14,022 units, is the most successful Lamborghini model to date and accounts for more than half the total cars sold by Lamborghini since the company was created in 1963. However, Mr Stephan Winkelmann is confident that the Huracan will be of a greater success. Compared with the Lamborghini Gallardo, the new Huracan's interior cabin is much more spacious and less claustrophobic. The Huracan is also visually striking with cues from the Lamborghini Aventador and the elegant use of hexagonal shapes. The beautiful hexagonal shaped windows leaves onlookers gazing and even the gas cap cover is hexagonal!

Price of the Huracan - The remarkable brand new Huracan costs SGD1.168 million excluding taxes in Singapore and around AUD428,000 in Australia.

“Today we are very proud to officially launch the new Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4 here in Singapore. Automobili Lamborghini continues to set new benchmarks in the luxury super sports car industry with its pure and cutting edge technology, and we expect the Huracán to be well received in this country. Having the world’s highest percentage of millionaires per capita, Singapore is one of our key markets in South East Asia because of the growth potential it presents...”

- Mr Stephan Winkelmann (President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A).
