Fine Dining: YANTRA - Exquisite North Indian Cuisine at Tanglin Mall, Singapore

YANTRA - Defining Indian Cuisine
Tanglin Mall

YANTRA - Exquisite North Indian Cuisine at Tanglin Mall - I was really delighted to be invited to their Official Media Launch. YANTRA is a sleek, trendy, chic fine dining restaurant that serves the finest and most authentic North Indian Cuisine made with fresh, hand-picked spices specially flown in from India. The restaurant's elegant ambience is one that exudes mysticism and the interesting menu is filled with delicious Indian dishes made from inventive recipes and alluring flavours that never fail to stimulate the palate and satisfy the senses of every diner. The open concept kitchen is extremely appealing to me as I always enjoy watching chefs busy at work, preparing the dishes with their professional culinary skills. I love to watch how the chefs prepare the hot tandoori dishes and whipped out freshly baked Indian breads and how each dish has been intricately and carefully prepared with pride!

YANTRA Menu - I was invited to savour this whole menu above filled with a variety of dishes to try. Every dish was absolutely delicious! There were Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian options on the menu as well.

I love how the menus were presented in bright pink colours that were modern and cheerful.

For those who are unfamiliar with Indian cuisine and are unsure what to order, do not fret as the menu is filled with beautiful photos of dishes and the friendly and attentive wait staff are always ready to help. I always appreciate menu with photos as I would like to know how my order would look like. There were very interesting drinks on the menu as well such as the "Yantra Gold Martini", "Tandoori Mojito" and "Jeera Pani". You will be spoilt for choices! I had a Yantra Gold Martini with swirling gold flakes in it. It was a delicious afternoon cocktail. Light, refreshing and easy to drink. It was simply a lovely drink! They also have a wide range of wine and they even have a wine sommelier.

Upon the arrival of my food, I was really impressed how each dish was beautifully presented on the plate. It felt similar to a degustation menu where signature dishes are presented with the aim to impress diners. I enjoy eating a variety of food in small portions so I won't feel too heavy and full after the meal.

Yantra's Food - Among all the dishes, the fragrant basmati rice cooked with saffron, mint and mace was the highlight as it was cooked to perfection! The succulent mixture of basmati rice served with the different accompaniments made the dish flavoursome and delicious. Another one of my favourite was the "Bengali Macchi Curry" where the cod fish was freshly cooked, tenderly soft and full of rich flavours. I have always been a big fan of cod fish as they are simply delicious! The "Murgh Badami" is a royal delicacy from the kitchen of Wajit Ali Shah and the chicken stuffed with Khoya, dried fruits, simmered in almond velvety gravy which tasted uniquely great! Honestly, I didn't know Indian food could taste this good and satisfying!

Interestingly, there was Gold Flakes in my tea too. Very pretty.

Main Course

Custom Made Dessert Ice Cream "KULFI ON THE GO" - I was really impressed with the dessert as it tasted heavenly and was easy to eat being presented on a ice cream stick. Deliciously good!

Yantra Selection of Exquisite Fine Tea

I have always been a tea-lover. A cup of freshly-brewed tea helps to aid digestion after every meal and is a good way to cleanse the body as well. I was so happy to see the wide selection of Black, White and Green tea on their menu. My favourite tea was their Yantra Gold Blend - as they have gold flakes inside it. Very pretty and it tasted very soothing and extremely refreshing!

SOMA The Bar - A trendy and cosy bar that offers a relaxing atmosphere to indulge in a pre-dinner or post-dinner drink. Inspired by the myth of Soma, the elixir of life, the design and ambience of the bar reflects Eastern mythology and enchantment. The bar offers customers innovative beverages and is the place to be seen!

SOMA The Wine Shop - A full service wine cellar that offers more than 250 labels and an impressive assortment of wine from all around the World such as from France, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, Spain, North America, South America, South Africa etc. to please every palate and satisfy wine connoisseurs.

Yantra is definitely a top choice restaurant to visit if you crave for fresh North Indian Cuisine that will never fail to impress. Delicious food with beautiful presentation. I will definitely be coming back again to eat together with my parents! After all, Tanglin mall is just 5 minutes away from my home :)
