Celebrating Mom's birthday at Dancing Crab at Orchard Central Singapore - It is my beloved mom's birthday and she loves eating fresh seafood and especially crabs. Therefore, we decided to book the newly opened Dancing Crab restaurant at Orchard Central shopping mall. Our good friend Norman Hartono from Tunglok Group helped organized our reservation and we received excellent customer service during our dinner. It was a small birthday dinner celebration for 25-30 people and all us enjoyed ourselves tremendously.

CAKE AVENUE birthday cake - This year, mom's birthday cake is really special as it is extremely pretty and almost too beautiful to be eaten. The 2-tier purple brooches birthday cake is definitely made to be fit for a "Queen" and my mom said the ribbons are simply lovely! Once the staff brought out the birthday cake, there were so many "Oooohs and Aaahhs" as it was truely the highlight of the birthday celebration! The birthday cake was served on top a plate of toy crabs with dry ice smoke oozing from it which added to the grand arrival of the Birthday cake! Most importantly, it is a chocolate fudge cake and everyone remarked that it was one of the best chocolate cake they have ever eaten. My mom love the cake as she said it was not too sweet and was baked just right. Every one truly enjoyed eating the birthday cake and so many asked for more second and third helpings! Besides the decadent chocolate which was ever so delicious, the fondant also tasted really good! It was a cake baked to perfection and a night where everyone was filled with happiness! The cake was the perfect dessert to end a wonderful night of celebration!

ABOUT CAKE AVENUE SINGAPORE - One of the most popular cake shops in Singapore who has a very strong online presence. They pride themselves in providing gourmet cakes to your doorstep with the simple click of a mouse away. Cake Avenue Singapore definitely provides cakes to make your special day a very memorable one! I highly recommend Cake Avenue cakes to everyone :)

Dancing crab added the "smoke element" using dry ice to add to the grand arrival

foodpanda - Food Delivery in Singapore
Website - www.foodpanda.sg
Instagram @foodpandasg #foodpandasg
With more than 400+ restaurants to choose from!
*Free delivery applicable for some restaurants*

Foodpanda Singapore - Recently, I discovered a very interesting website which provides fast, reliable and convenient food delivery in Singapore. As my sister Lora Christelle Lim decided to stay in Singapore for 2 days after our family Europe trip, we decided to order food delivery to my home and invited several friends over for dinner and drinks before she flew back to Sydney. It was also my friend Lemuel Lee who is a regular and happy customer of foodpanda who suggested that we order food delivery through the website. Such strong word of mouth recommendation! We decided to give foodpanda food delivery a try for the first time!

STEP 1: Simply key in your postcode address
and a list of restaurants will appear!

Ordering Food Delivery from www.foodpanda.sg - The foodpanda website is extremely user-friendly. Once the page was loaded, I simply had to key in my postal code address and voila!, a large list of different companies that do food delivery to my home were displayed. With more than 400+ restaurants listed on the foodpanda website, customers are spoilt for choices. Even if you did not know what to eat, the large variety of food choices will definitely whet your appetite!

After keying in my postal code address, I was surprised to find that I was able to order so many different types of cuisines such as Italian, Thai, Indian, American, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Indonesian, Singapore's local fare, Fast food etc. Most importantly, I was so happy that so many of these restaurants also provided FREE DELIVERY! What a fantastic deal and offer! With just a click of the mouse away on my computer, food was quickly delivered to my home which was really convenient! You can also pre-order and decide what date and time you prefer the food to be delivered to your address.

STEP 2: Select which restaurant you wish to order food from
and click "Go to menu"

RESTAURANTS THAT DELIVER TO MY HOME ADDRESS - It was great to discover that so many high end and popular restaurants provided food delivery to my home and my favourites included Hard Rock Cafe, Spizza, Delifrance Bakery, Nandos Chicken, Swensen's, The Soup Spoon, Subway, Monster Japanese Curry, Shin Kushiya Japanese, PastaMania, 4Fingers Crispy Chicken, Nara Thai, California Pizza Kitchen, Sake Sushi, Old Hong Kong Cafe, Ming Fa Fishball etc.  There were just so many choices to choose from!

THE YANG's TRADITIONAL HAINANESE CHICKEN RICE - As my sister Lora was craving for Singapore's local food, we decided to order some Hainanese Chicken rice from The Yang's Traditional Hainanese Chicken Rice which arrived at my doorstep in less than 1 hour. Unbelievably fast delivery despite the fact being located in Serangoon area which was quite a distance away from my home at Tanglin Road in the city. I also liked the fact that the restaurant called almost immediately to re-confirm my order. The food was delivered up to my door and I paid cash to the delivery lady. The food was still warm and tasted absolutely delicious! All my friends and I enjoyed our chicken rice feast especially with the generous servings and fragrant Jasmine rice. They also provided sufficient disposable cutlery, serviettes, small packets of chilli sauce and sweet black sauce.

STEP 3: Choose what food items you wish to order from the food menu

STEP 4: Confirm Order - Select Date and Time (Pre-order is recommended)

Final Step: Secure Checkout - Input Delivery address and Payment Details

Foodpanda - 5 stars excellent food delivery in Singapore - All of us were genuinely impressed with foodpanda's food delivery website and their fast, efficient, reliable service. We will definitely visit the website to order food delivery in Singapore regularly especially during rainy days or days where we are simply too lazy to cook or step out of home. Foodpanda is definitely a trusted name for food delivery in Singapore and one of my favourite food delivery websites.

Chotto Matte
Gastropub. Japanese Restaurant. Bar & Grill
Address - 54 Blair Road, Singapore 089954
Phone: +65 6222-8846
Opening hours: Daily 5pm until late

CHOTTO MATTE - Gastropub. Japanese Restaurant. Bar & Grill - I am a huge fan of Japanese cuisine and was delighted to be invited to this newly opened Japanese restaurant to try out their delicious Japanese cuisine and I must say I was utterly impressed with the quality of good and the high level of customer service. Located in the picturesque Spottiswoode neighborhood, CHOTTO MATTE is located in a quiet and cozy corner but you honestly can't missed this amazing Japanese restaurant with its strikingly white entrance which is simple yet elegant. Inspired by the founders quest to offer customers a whole new dining experience where traditional cooking methods of the East and cleverly infused with modern Western influences, this results in a timeless culinary experience where delicate and carefully prepared Japanese dishes are combined with exceptional European inspirations. With an extensive list of specially imported Japanese sake, wine , single malt whisky and beer, customers are able to pair their choice of liquor to the food for a memorable dining experience.

CHOTTO MATTE which means "to wait a little" seems to signify how one is able to escape the busy urban life by entering this quaint and cozy Japanese restaurant to indulge in a relaxing dining experience while everything else can simply wait. An interesting name for a restaurant indeed! With its dim lightings and beautiful soothing music playing in the background, it was definitely a great place to chill and catch up with loved ones and friends. Customers can choose to sit indoors and outdoors. The private dining area that comes with a sushi bar and open concept kitchen allow customers to see how the chef carefully prepares each dish carefully with intricate details and focus.

WHAT TO ORDER - For the adventurous diner or for those who trust the chef in selecting his freshest produce to showcase his exceptional culinary skills, do opt for "OMAKASE" which starts from $100 per person onwards, you will definitely not be disappointed. Just simply tell the chef your budget and he is able to create a special customized menu according to your preferences. If not, do browse the Ala-Carte menu and select the wide variety of dishes to try. Indulge in fresh sushi pieces that simply melts in your mouth or grilled yakitori sticks that are cooked to perfection. My ultimate favorite dish is the "Hotate Foguara" which is pan fried Hokkaido Scallops topped with Foie Gras.

PURE SPRING WATER - Chef Roy focuses on the purity of water in his cooking. He personally carried and brought back to Singapore an oxygen tank looking machine from Japan that transforms our piped water to soft spring water. He believes that using the right water helps to bring out the utmost best taste of his dishes to fascinate diners. It is no wonder that he has created a loyal following of regular customers who never fail to visit him at least once a week.

SECRET TIP: Fresh fish is delivered every Tues and Fri so do visit on these days to enjoy your meal to the fullest!

Sea bream tai, Yellow Tail, Muki Hotate Fresh Scallop, Uni

Dobin Mushi - Delicious Fish Soup, cooked with fresh fish bones. Sweet, nourishing and yummy!

HOTATE FOGUARA - Pan fried Hokkaido Scallops topped with Foie Gras - My favorite dish! I love the texture of the fresh scallops and how the foie gras helped to bring out the tastiness of this dish!

Japanese Beef Curry Noodles - For huge fans of Japanese curry, this dish is a must try!

Delicious dessert - Yuzu Sorbert with Sweet Melon

Chef Roy says that using the correct water is most important when it comes to cooking.
This machine is bought especially from Japan, so that it can produce the right spring water to create the perfect water for cooking and creating dishes that are out of this world.
